I love mysteries that can also make me laugh. Mary is hired by a 13 year old who believes the wrong man was imprisoned for her sister‘s murder. As she hunts down the truth Mary also becomes engaged.

I loved the book, the plot, Mary‘s character and how it showed both her personal life and the crime side of what she was investigating.
My only critique of the audio version is how Mary‘s family was portrayed. I know they‘re loud, but this was over the top!
In the story, teenager Allegra is on a mission to find out how her sister was truly murdered. She knows the man in prison is innocent.
But if he‘s innocent, then who‘s guilty?
Gee...looks like there was a crime/drama theme this month. 🤔
Top 3:
1. Accused - A new series discovery featuring an all female law firm. Witty and fast paced.
2. Small Great Things - Yes, there was predictability and stereotypes, but I still found it quite good.
3. Doctor Dealer - True crime and fascinating.
Biggest 🙄🙄🙄 award goes to The Third Wife. I like Lisa Jewell for an easy audiobook, but this one was a little cringeworthy.
I absolutely ❤️ Lisa Scottoline and her stand alone novels so I wanted to absolutely ❤️ this book. (This is the first book in her series that I have read.) Unfortunately, this was just okay for me. I found Mary annoying until the very end when she seemed more level headed. I liked the crime being solved. The narrator‘s Italian accent grated my nerves. Considering my likes and dislikes I‘m sure I‘ll attempt another book in this series. 😛
A fun and breezy read that was more fun than thriller-y. I feel like there were prequels to this story that I was supposed to have read. The mystery itself wasn‘t very satisfying but it was very fun listening to Mary run around Philadelphia since that‘s where I live.
I listened to this on audiobook and it did not disappoint! I laughed out loud numerous times. I really thought I knew who the killer was but I was way off!

My Lisa Scottoline collection so far. I am almost done with "Accused"
No matter what genre of books you to read, just keep reading my friends :)
I have read several Rosato & DiNunzio books over the years, but I haven't read one for a long time. Reading Accused was like slipping into a pair of sweatpants and an old soft sweater on an autumn evening. Pure comfort. Loved it.
