An unsent letter in a first edition copy of Charlottes Web leads to a hunt for treasure in this heartwarming middle grade mystery from the author of The Mother-Daughter Book Club. Now that Truly Lovejoys father has been injured by an IED in Afghanistan and is having trouble finding work back home, the family moves from Texas to tiny Pumpkin Falls, New Hampshire, to take over Lovejoys Books, a struggling bookstore thats been in the family for one hundred years. With two older brothers and two younger sisters clamoring for attention, her mother back in school, and everyone up to their eyebrows trying to keep Lovejoys Books afloat, Truly feels more overlooked than usual. So she pours herself into uncovering the mystery of an undelivered letter she finds stuck in a valuable autographed first edition of Charlottes Web, which subsequently goes missing from the bookshop. Whats inside the envelope leads Truly and her new Pumpkin Falls friends on a madcap treasure hunt around town, chasing clues that could spell danger. Fans of Heather Vogel Fredericks Mother-Daughter Book Club series will rejoice for a new series with a similarly cozy New England setting, great characters, and literary references to beloved classics (School Library Journal).

In case anyone is still stalking me for ideas, this is an example of my cozy/fall aesthetic. The books are on my Goodreads TBR. The tagged book is a middle-grade cozy I found. I've only read one cozy in my life. I love historical books, so feel free to surprise me. @Chrissyreadit @Avanders @ferskner

Mehso-so

This book is part of the last challenge of HP Wnter Magical Readathon that I was supposed to complete on 12/31, but due to family matters & quakes, it was completed this month.Prompt was to read something with feather/bird.For me book was from ok to so-so.I thought it would focus more on the mystery but it was more about family dynamics. It is a bout Truly a 12y/o girl who moved to New Hampshire. I will read 2nd book because I have it already. 3⭐️

rubyslippersreads I also love this author‘s Mother-Daughter Book Club series. Each one focuses on a different classic—Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Betsy-Tacy, etc. 5y
Gissy @rubyslippersreads I will try it. I think I read this book in a difficult time. But I will read the second one and the series your mentioning. 5y

Chrissyreadit @Gissy @rubyslippersreads I‘m curious about reading the mother daughter book club. I think I‘d like to have a book club with my teens too. 5y

I read this novel with a #TwoWordTitle back in May. This was one of last year's WAW Award nominees that I was hoping would win. #TwoWordTitles #AndItsAugust @RealLifeReading

Pickpick

After her father is wounded in Afghanistan, Truly and her family move to their father's hometown to take over the family bookstore. Truly thinks living in Pumpkin Falls will be awful, until she stumbles upon a #mystery that sparks her curiosity. This was a great #childrensbook. The mystery had several twists, and the characters were well-written. I appreciate how the author described the slow mental healing process of a wounded veteran.
