Sorry to all of the Stuart Woods‘ fans out there, but this was not for me. I was not impressed with Stone Barrington - the word pompous kept going through my mind. It was a very fast read, but I probably will not read another one.

ReadingSusan I hate him lol. (edited) 6y
Librarybelle @ReadingSusan I‘ll be interested to hear what the others in my mystery group think about the books 6y
Pamwurtzler How far into the series is this one? I liked him at first, but in the later books the charm wore thin. I haven‘t read one in a while. 6y

Librarybelle @Pamwurtzler This one is a very recent one, I think number 39 in the series. 6y
Pamwurtzler Yikes! I didn‘t get nearly that far. 6y
Librarybelle @Pamwurtzler I could see where the earlier ones would be better, as Woods sets up the characters and develops them. Once you reach number 39, it‘s probably covering a lot of the same territory! 6y
jbhops 😂 he's my guilty pleasure. Those books are sooooo outside the realm of normal that I can deal with them. 6y
Librarybelle @jbhops I have had to defend my cozy mystery obsession with some people over the years...they‘re my guilty pleasures! Silly little mysteries. Here‘s to guilty pleasures! ❤️ 6y

I love Stuart Woods (and Stone Barrington), don't get me wrong, but I think my boss may be right and this may not be one of his best book.: 😬🤞🏻

I can't get enough of this cover! 😍 I have a stack from the library, but I feel like I'm in kind of a slump after Never, Never. I started Dare Me but wasn't enjoying it quite yet, so I'm putting it on hold to catch up on my Stone Barrington's, which I know I will love 😚🤑!

If the Stone Barrington novels are ever made into movies George Clooney is my ideal to play the lead. Only he could get women to fall into bed with him the way Stone does.

My father is so cute. He deals with bouts of insomnia, and he combats it with books, for which I'm grateful. Because he always tells me the plot of whatever he read, and Stuart Woods is who he reads right now. I almost want to read this book, Dad described it so well!
