Update: Yes she seems snooty but I learned a lot from her, I‘m tired of yo-yoing 20lbs and wished I knew how to cook French and eat like a French woman. Drink lots of water!!

I never thought of food and eating in that way before.

the title is eye-catching, so I understand why it was chosen, but honestly, a better title would be “the french philosophy of eating.” after several trips to europe, I‘ve always been fascinated by how differently europeans approach eating. this book well explains the vast difference between american & european psychology re: eating, and there‘s some good recipes thrown in, too. a bit dry at times, but overall, enjoyable.

There‘s some excellent advice in here, not a diet plan but a way of living. There are some good recipes sprinkled throughout. She comes across as thinking French people are SO superior to Americans, but it‘s subtle and was probably not her intention. Since I‘ve been obsessed with French culture lately and learning the language, this was right up my alley. A bit slow in places but worth reading. 4⭐️ 🇫🇷

Sweet find inside a used book today- someone's book club menu for French Women Don't Get Fat 😁📖😁

New book for my monthly book club with my nutritionist! I think this book will be the perfect read as I move into the holiday season. It takes the approach of “pleasure, not punishment” so that we can live (and eat) well while still focusing on a healthy lifestyle. Excited to make notes as I go!

I started reading this book expecting it be just another diet fad book but it surprised me. It was chock full of easy to follow lifestyle tips. Not just about food and eating - about exercise, relationships, mindfulness, etc. I ended enjoying the book way more than I expected.

This fun read was sort of a diet book and sort of a book on french women's culture. Many pointers on not overdoing it when eating, but indulge in a little something for pleasure. In fact, I didnt know the french use chocolate as a verb. "When I'm down, I chocolate."

A wild book stack appears! 👀
