Oranges and Lemons
Oranges and Lemons | Liz Bugg
3 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
In the glamorous world of advertising, image is everything as intrepid lesbian PI Calli Barnow finds out when she goes undercover at a top Toronto agency. Following a twisted money trail, she stumbles across the body of a hot young copywriter, dead of a drug overdose at his desk. Just another casualty of the Bay Street rat race? Calli doesn't think so and when she follows her intuition, trouble usually follows her.

Thanks @Sarah83 for the tag. She asked me to do an orange stack so here goes. 😊 I nominate @Amandajoy and @Bookworm54 to build an indigo pile. #colourtag

julesG I would have put that same copy of Wide Sargasso Sea on such a stack. 😍 7y

Thanks @rwmg for my color; Orange. I have more orange books than I thought. Mostly travel books.
I tag @LisaMorr , @YouBookMe , @BookBrat to stack green books (my favorite color).

YouBookMe Fun! I'm away from home this weekend but will find green books when I get back. 7y
LisaMorr Whoa...green books? Did you know I collect Virago Modern Classics? It'll be quite a stack! 7y
BookBrat Green is my favorite color too! This will be fun. 7y
VioletBramble @LisaMorr I know you've mentioned your VMC. I've never seen any VMC and had no idea they're green. You can just choose a representative sample. 7y
VioletBramble @BookBrat Yay! Green is the best color. 7y

I wish I was still in Kauai (where this picture was taken) but unfortunately I do not wish I was still reading this lesbian mystery novel. By the end I was unsure about why Calli Barnow was even a PI, as she seems to neither like it nor be good at it. In fact, I just plain didn't like her, and the secondary characters felt two-dimensional. When I can figure out who the bad guy is early on, that's pretty bad. #DiverseDetectives
