I ducked out to the grocery store & Starbucks between rainstorms & I'm just getting around to breakfast-Kashi Lean Toasted Berry Crisp which seldom has many dried berries so I like to top it with fresh berries whenever I have them-like these leftover blueberries. I plan to curl up with this book (not in the database) then do 'chores.' Oh, who am I trying to kid?! I won't make myself do the chores! 🤣
This was breakfast earlier this morning--Eggs Caprese & coffee. I started this e-book #ARC (Music of the Deep) from NetGalley. It's not on Litsy yet so I'm tagging another of the author's books that I enjoyed. Hope I like this one as much. pickA good story for an October night. Elise has just lost her husband and is sure he's trying to tell her something. Or maybe it's just her call of help from the depths of her grief. Either way, must follow it and find it's source. Magical realism is made stronger by many Native American rituals and traditions. It keeps a good balance of suspense and wonder, and also has a beautiful ending.

Day 8 #JuneBookBugs #dusk This book is titled after "the blue hour"-the period of twilight early in the dawn or late in the dusk where the sun dips far below the horizon & the sky takes on a blue cast. I love the color blue & that this time is considered a romantic, mysterious & sometimes magical or spiritual-as in this novel, steeped in Native American folklore. I paired it with huevos rancheros for my blog tour book review back in November. ??
pickPart mystery, part ghost story, with a tiny dash of crime novel. If you like P.S. I Love You, but wish it was a little less mushy and focused on Native American beliefs instead of the Irish countryside, this is the book for you.
pickGorgeously written novel full of Native American folklore & the spirit world. Elise is mourning the death of her husband & feels guilty that she misinterpreted a dream & didn't warn him. When she seems to be getting messages from him trying to tell her something, she looks to psychics & seers & travels cross-country to find answers. Not too much magical realism-but enough to give some goosebumps W/Huevos Rancheros for book tour review-link below.

If you saw the pineapple rind fermenting on Monday's #cookbooklove post, here's the result--strained, mixed w/honey & enjoyed over ice for a slightly ciderish/shrubish pineapple drink.
