I feel like this book really picks up from the second half on. It‘s a portal fantasy to a magic school, so fun premise if that‘s your thing (it is mine), but I got extremely attached to the characters in the latter half and now I‘m seriously annoyed that someone else has book 2 out from the library! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Surprisingly engaging! The characters and dialogue are a smidge childish...BUT I'm enjoying it so far. A good casual read. I'm on to the next book asap because the whole series is free on audible for the next day and a half.

The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni, a portal fantasy set at a magical academy, that contains an even more magical library. The friendships and world building just gets better with each book. I‘m glad I kept reading the series and overall I would rate the series 5 stars, with books 3 and 4 as my favourites (Draekora and Graevale).

Literature may increase one‘s depth of knowledge, but not all knowledge be found in literature. Only with practical experience can one truly learn and thus be considered knowledgeable.

Day 7 of the Post Challenges is “Favourite Fantastical World“!

I have chosen the world of The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni. Of course my favourite series is Harry Potter but I wanted to go with a full on Magical World rather than just magic in our world! So I had to choose Medora!

Bookmark & Candle are from www.duskangelstore.com . The Candle without a lid is the “Silverwood“ Candle.

It‘s time for the Hour 30: Flying Under the Radar #24in48 Challenge!

For this one share a book that is less known (under the radar

For this one I had to share Akarnae, the first book in The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni. It‘s an Aussie only printed book so it‘s kinda under the radar. But it is absolutely amazing and if you are outside of Aus you need to go and buy the eBook from Amazon!!! 😍😍😍👌🏻👌🏻

Really enjoyed this book. Really liked the friendship between Alexandra, Bear and Jordan. It had a very interesting world and great characters. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

The entire Akarnae series so far is wonderful. I absolutely devoured every book - i lived and breathed and even dreamed them. Lynette Noni is an amazing storyteller and has a talent in creating characters that you emotionally invest in.

This is the start to an amazing high fantasy series! The characters are amazing in this book, we have a soon to be badass female MC & two hilarious and amazing best guy friends. This book has amazing world building and an intensely building plot. This book reminds me of a combo on Narnia & Harry Potter but also amazingly unique. Also this book has no romance! 👌🏻👌🏻

@MadsBooks recommended this series to me - I've only read the first one so far, but I loved it! (Also, we met Lynette Noni on the weekend and she is such a sweetheart!)

Give me a fantasy anytime. I absolutely loved the story, which had a bit of an alice in wonderland feel. The main-character is a bit repetitive at times but it is easy to overlook. The story has a nice amount of twists and I especially loved how her friendships were portrayed.

Great storyline and storyworld. Main character was a bit annoying at times and some parts were a bit predictable but other than that it was a good read.

A light and fun fantasy adventure perfect for lovers of the Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter. Positives; magical world building, strong female lead, cool adventures and great friendships. Negatives; a bit long with a meandering plot, you can easily skim read sections and miss nothing.

So this book IS like a X-Men and Harry Pottet mash up, but that's why I loved it! It's also a story about belonging, the power of friendship and finding your place in the world. A fast paced YA novel that doesn't fail to warm your heart.

I really enjoyed this. Yes you could see similarities between the Harry Potter world but I think she did an amazing job and loved the series and am very excited for the third instalment

Mehso-so

The author describes this as a cross between Harry Potter and the X-Men. I will pay that. It's pretty much derived from those two plot lines.

Fantasy YA novel from small Australian publishing house. Have to read first book before I can (read &) review the second.
