This was a quick, enjoyable read. I enjoyed it and found some useful info and support for kicking my inner critic's ass.

This book is cute and good at cheerleading you on to be creative. Mostly geared towards physical art making (like painting or drawing) but can be applied elsewhere. The author narrates it well. I am not sure if it says anything super new but it was a good reminder. #audiobook #24in48

Meh. This was ok. I didn‘t care for the authors narration, it felt awkward at times. The content was ok, but extremely simplistic. Lots of platitudes and quotes I‘ve read a hundred times before. Good quotes, but still not particularly original. I may have appreciated this more in my late teens, or maybe I would have resented feeling like I was being spoken to like a child. Who knows. At least I only paid 99 cents for it, and it was short.

Krisjericho Hahaha! Great review. Daily deal, right? I also bought it because it was 99 cents, but I haven‘t listened to it yet. This was kind of the feeling I got when I bought it, though. 6y
GypsyKat @Krisjericho Yup! I can‘t resist a deal! 😂It wasn‘t bad, I just didn‘t think it was particularly good. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Great review. I rarely read these books anymore, due to the repetitive nature of their content. 6y
GypsyKat @BarbaraTheBibliophage Thanks! I think I‘m done with the creative self-help genre myself. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y

I‘m listening to this one on Audible while I wait for A Court of Frost And Starlight to arrive (so excited for that! 😬) This one is ok so far, but really basic common sense stuff.

“Labels are for canned peaches, not humans.”

I snagged this #Audible deal a few days ago on a $2 whim. I‘m really happy I did! It‘s a short (just under 3 hours), but feel-good type of self help-ish book for creative folks. I‘ve always felt myself as pretty creative and crafty, but not necessarily as an artist. This book provides some good advice and perspective. It hit me at a good time.

Prairiegirl_reading I saw this and I didn‘t get it! Now I‘m kicking myself because my inner critic is a huge asshole!! 😖 6y
britt_brooke @Prairiegirl_reading Mine is such a massive pain in the ass!! 😫 If you‘ve never received a free Audible book before, I can send it to you. I‘d be happy to. 6y
Prairiegirl_reading 😲I have never received a free audible book before! Sweet of you to offer! How do we do this? 6y

julesG I think I need this, too. My inner critic is often keeping me from finishing a project, sometimes even from starting one in the first place. 6y
Maria514626 I refer to mine as Miss Viola Swamp from the Miss Nelson Is Missing kids‘ book. Looks like a crone and a real b. 😠 She‘s helped me perfect the art of procrastination. (edited) 6y
Cathythoughts Love this title 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 6y

britt_brooke @Maria514626 😫 That‘s a great name for your inner voice, though! 6y
britt_brooke @Cathythoughts Me, too. And it‘s so true! 6y

This book was so inspiring!!! The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking about different people I wanted to give it to, so they could be inspired too! However I will be keeping this copy because I see myself picking it back up in the future! 😉 Also the book is filled with Martha Rich's paintings and I love her artwork!!!!! #martharich #definitelyreaditagain

Really cute book that serves as a much needed reminder that every creative person struggles at being creative, no matter how long they've been working at their craft or how successful they've been. The author is a visual artist, so she gives a perspective on being creative that, as a writer, I found different and helpful. Giving it away as a Christmas present. 🎁📚👍
