So Harry Snyder, who founded In-N-Out, prided himself on being a “shrewd judge of a person‘s character,” and only hired staff who met his “high standards.” Yet he refused to hire women for 30 years because he believed having female employees would encourage the men to “grab ass.” Trying to figure out how that translates into “staff with good character" is making my brain hurt. ?

The nearest In-N-Out Burger location is about 2,500 miles from me so I've never had one, but what the heck --I'm always up for a quirky nonfiction read.

Took a #24in48 break to have burgers and fries and a Target stop for some gifts - it‘s the 5yo‘s last week of preschool and he wanted to give a little something to his classmates. And now back to The Kiss Quotient! How‘s your day been?

tracey38 Well, first half of the day was waiting for the power company to restore power from the storms (lost power at 6am), so I finished one book. Power came on about 1:30 and I showered, did laundry, and once again sitting down to start a new book. 6y

Haven't done much reading today. We spent the day at Shoreline Park, paddle boating, walking, and picnicking In-N-Out style with burgers, fries and milkshakes

FountainBookstore You can't throw a brick without hitting a Krispy Kreme, though! I only treat myself about every 2 years, but it's good to know I have the option for hot glazed any time I need it. The drive thru line is always mobbed, so I'm sure my infrequent patronage is not harming them much. 🍩 6y
