This book had a very unique, intriguing story line. The characters were well developed and likable. Or even disliked depending on the character...

However, I felt like it built me up for an amazing climax only to leave me grasping. Actually, I would love to hear others perspective on the book. If you've read it, what were your thoughts?? Loath or love...

Recommended for historical fiction buffs.

📖📚 Happy Reading! 📚📖

So heartwarming, so heartbreaking. This is a great story.
I don't want to give a spoiler, so I will word my main thought as, I am so heartbroken and mad about Cat and Darrell. They had a special and unique bond.
I couldn't stop reading this book. Historical fiction, romance and time travel.

Done! Car is okay. I have the paperwork and new sticker on my license plate. Next check in two years.

I can read in peace now, in the morning sunshine. 😊

#GhostCat is looking at my dirty ride. (it definitely needs a bit of rinse down - understatement of course)

Thank you for the fingers crossed!

Too nervous to read. My car is undergoing its vehicle test and I hope they don't find anything that needs fixing. 😨😰

julesG @LeahBergen @Cinfhen @squirrelbrain - Thank you. We made it. The only objections were a "wobbly" driver side light bulb (needs to be screwed in properly - why didn't you do it then - not my job ?) and water is low. He did not see the tiny crater in the windscreen! That was my biggest worry. New windscreen is about 800 euros. 6y
Cinfhen Woohoo!!!! 6y
squirrelbrain Phew! 😁 6y
Deifio Oh yeah, new windscreen would have been awful! Glad the car made it through the TÜV okay. 6y
brandybear22 Good luck. My car won‘t pass inspection this year. I just hope it holds up til I get a new one 🤞 6y

Good story and very well done. I enjoyed the two narrators as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Time travel, magic, and history in this one. Elizabethan England and two unwanted girls in a time when woman had no rights.

It was an emotional roller-coaster, I would highly recommend The Phantom Tree to book fans looking for a good time travel novel that balances mystery, romance and drama. Note that the story started out slow but about 90-100pages into it I found myself devouring the pages.

Cornick‘s writing is easily digestible. I enjoyed dual POVs of Mary and Allison while Cornick wove a mystery, historical fiction and romance with fantastical elements. I will definitely read more from her. Susanna Kearsley fans will like this.

Cross of many genres; history, fantasy, romance, mystery. Time-travel from 16th century Tudors to present. Nicola Cornick gives us a scenario about Mary Seymour‘s disappearance. Descriptions make us feel we are there too. Perfect escape novel to the Tudor era. Twists and surprises make for an exciting romantic adventure. NetGalley gave me a copy for an honest review.

Cornick delivers another story that blends history, mystery, romance, and time travel, this time bridging the present time with Elizabethan England. The history around Mary Seymour seems well-researched, but I‘m no historian. I was particularly affected by the impossible situations thrust on women in the 16th century. Cornick is definitely on par with Kate Mosse, MJ Rose, and Kate Morton in the multi-century storytelling.
