Interesting black and white book.

I had to stop reading this to my daughter halfway. This is way too dark for a child that is at the age of learning the alphabet. One picture showed a large knife above the letter. “The A was in an avalanche.
The B was badly bitten.
The C was cut to ribbons....
The Z was zapped”

Grabbing XYZ books from my kid/picture book shelves may be cheating, but I love Van Allsburg's always interesting illustrations - so this adult still has him in the house 😁
