This start to a new urban fantasy series is fun- monster hunting in rural Virginia with technology, some supernatural super powers and a bit of romance and banter makes this a joy to listen to! John Charming is an ex-Knight, nurses a broken heart and has skills of his own setting him apart. When he ends up joining a team of other hunters, the plot moves quickly in this engaging start. I have the sequel & am looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Enjoying this one so far. So many magical creatures mentioned. Refreshing change to have nagas, kresniks, and Valkyries in the mix. Plus, the vampires aren‘t sparkly or romantic.

"Not all princes are charming" is the tag line for this book but I found the lead John very charming. I wouldn't say this book was fasted paced but enjoyed the action and the characters and I look forward to the next book.

It took a little bit to get into the story but overall it's a good urban fantasy - the supernatural exists but people are prevented from knowing about it and the Knights Templar help make sure it stays that way. Character development is solid and it's worth trying another in the series. The humor might be a little much but I'm seeing it as a defense mechanism on the part of John Charming. I'll see how by goes in book two.

I saw a post about this series and am giving it a try. I was sidetracked for a bit but now back at it. I like the play on Prince Charming and there's subtle humor. So far, so good.

Book mail!! Most of the Urban Fantasy I read is from a female POV. I'm really curious about the flip side. Added to the massive TBR pile.

New favorite phrase from a book "...you might have a falling-out with the worldview you're currently enamored of...". Yes, I'm only giving part of it because it's talking about finding out vampires, etc. are real and I think that we all know that's not happening, as much as some might like it to be true. I selected this part because I think it's meaningful in a larger context.

I usually prefer my urban fantasy with female leads, but I'm actually really enjoying this so far. A huge chunk of that enjoyment can be credited to the narrator of the audiobook, who is fantastic.

70 pages in and meh. Nothing against the book really but typical urban fantasy isn't really my jam. Debating whether to carry on.
