Some universal truths refuse to be ignored.Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don't go for girls like Cam Emerson. She knew from the second she met him that he didn't belong on her bookshelf, the six-foot-six ex-tight end with a face so all-American, it could have sold apple pie. So she shelved him next to the supermodels and rock stars and took her place on her own shelf - the one with the flannel-clad, pasty-faced comic book nerds. Most of her boyfriends have existed between the pages of books, but rather than worrying over her own lacking love life, she puts all her energy into playing Cupid, using her job at the book bar, Wasted Words, as her stomping ground.Tyler Knight always looks on the bright side. His career-ending injury turned into a job as a sports agent. A horrible breakup led him to Cam, his quirky, smart roommate who is far more beautiful than she realizes. She's made it perfectly clear she's not interested in him - not like that at least - but if she ever changes her mind, he won't hesitate. Because he doesn't see the lines she's drawn between them, as much as she insists that they're there. Deep down he knows that despite their differences, they're a match well made.*A romantic comedy inspired by Jane Austen's Emma*

⭐️⭐️💫
It felt pretty immature - writing and character-wise - the amount of times the female main character called herself crazy was cringey at best.
And the guy saying he'd give her time to work out her relationship fears, just to then be so frustrated he broke up with her in less than a week? Just too angsty.
The bookshop/bar/coffee place where Cam worked, though? 5 stars. Wish it was real.

Emerson's meddling grated me but she is usually as others best interest at heart. I really enjoyed this modern twist on an Austen classic, Emma.

A light read. I liked the book but a bit corny at the end. But hey, it's just me. I'll be reading book 3 of the series.

I just have to start with this one after reading book 2 of the series. I know, I know, I didn't read it in order. Hah! I usually read books in the order I shelved them. But lately, I am in the mood to read in the order I find interesting...usually, book covers!

I enjoyed this cute roommates to lovers rom-com much more than I expected! I've been reading a lot of heavy stuff & needed something mindless, & this was perfect for that. It's peppered with funny moments, & I love Cam's workplace--Wasted Words--a bookstore & bar. Cam is quite an unlikable character and her issues go on too long, & Tyler is too perfect. Lots of typos plus not a lot of Emma comparisons, but I had fun with it! 3.5 stars

Overall cute, but it seemed the whole “he‘s too good looking for me” thing went on forever. Like, to the very end, I was wondering why we were still discussing it!

This was an average modern romance, enjoyable enough for my e-book nursing reading, but not super special.

A fun contemporary adaptation of Emma. Cam work at a bar/bookstore that is the name of the book. Honestly, I think I may have stumbled on my dream job that combines my skills and love of books. It has all the important plot points and the explanation of Cam's matchmaking methods is kinda heartbreaking but totally makes sense based on her experience. A fun quick read for all who are interested. #romantsy
