Pickpick

Somewhere between a pick and a so-so but I think that‘s more about the fact that I‘ve read in very snatched hours as this weekend has been so busy 😁 But will definitely give the next one a try too.

My conversation with Simon Toyne on Facebook:

Eadie: Are you writing any more Solomon Creed books?

Simon: Not at the moment. Solomon's having a break while I write a stand alone but I'll drag him back out next year.

Eadie: Ok thanks for the reply. Will be looking forward to reading your standalone in the meantime!

TrishB I‘m 35% through, very limited reading this weekend! 5y
EadieB @TrishB Be sure to read this one next 5y
gradcat Nice one, Eadie—do you often have convos with authors on FB! By the way, how are you & yours this Father‘s Day? I hope you all are well ♥️ 5y

EadieB @gradcat Yes, I do contact a lot of authors and find they will respond. Having a quiet Father‘s Day as we are both coughing our heads off! 5y
gradcat Ugh! I‘m feeling a bit under the weather, too—some kind of summer cold. Hope you guys get better soon. Take good care of yourselves! 5y
EadieB @gradcat Hope you feel better soon too! 5y

Andrew65 It was!!!! 👍 I have read this first one and need to continue this series. Quite different approach in this book. Even more so I recommend his Sanctus Trilogy, a wonderful trilogy and adventure. I know @Eadieb also enjoyed these books. 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi @TrishB Why thank you. 😊😍🙌 (edited) 5y
TrishB @Andrew65 I‘ll probably try those too! This one was a 99p offer! 5y
Andrew65 @TrishB That‘s a great bargain! 👍 (edited) 5y
EadieB @TrishB I've read and gave 5 stars to this one and the sequel 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB That‘s the one I need to read. 5y
EadieB @Andrew65 Yes It is as good as the first one. Don't know if he has written any others as he seems busy with CBS reality show Written In Blood, 6 Authors Influenced by Crime. (edited) 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB It looks like he is currently writing a ‘tricky standalone‘ that comes out next year. 5y
TrishB Thanks @EadieB I‘ll keep my eye out! 5y
EadieB @Andrew65 Interesting! Ill have to check it out! The CBS reality show has a segment about Elly Griffith and Peter James and their books. Can‘t watch it as it‘s a UK production. 5y
TrishB @Andrew65 I always cross check the 99p offers against Litsy! 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB That‘s interesting, will have to check it out. In middle of books by both these at the moment! (edited) 5y
Andrew65 @TrishB That‘s a good strategy! 5y
EadieB @Andrew65 it seems he also interviews Peter Robinson and Tess Gerritsen. You can watch the interviews on YouTube. (edited) 5y
Andrew65 @EadieB Will check them out, I need to get back to the Rizzoli and Isles Series! 5y
TheAromaofBooks I enjoyed this when I read it a while back, and keep meaning to reread now that there is a sequel! 5y
TrishB @TheAromaofBooks I‘m enjoying it - I‘ve just been diverted via another book at the moment! 5y

Pickpick

Simon Toyne‘s supernatural thriller (the first in a series) is a pacey, action-packed affair that makes great use of multiple viewpoints to slowly unlock the secrets in Redemption while establishing a central mystery around Solomon that promises much for later books such that while there are a couple of hokey and predictable scenes, I found it an entertaining read and finished it wanting to know what happens next.
