Today is the celebration of a man who dreamed of peace and equality for everyone. We still have a long way to go before his dream becomes a reality, but I hope with all my heart that one day we will wake up in a world without racism and prejudice and we won‘t need to dream anymore. I‘ve always felt honored to share a birthday with Martin Luther King, Jr. Today is his 89th birthday; this year marks Fifty since he was killed. He was my age when he died.
I surely haven‘t accomplished much in my 39 years, but I hold his life and his fight for justice as examples. Activism intersects in many ways. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
