What Milo Saw

A BIG story about a small boy who sees the world a little differently Milo curled his thumb and forefinger together to make a small hole and held his fingers up to Al's eyes. 'Look through here. That's what I see. Kind of, only worse.''Wow, that must be amazing.'Milo shrugged. 'Not really.''I mean, it makes you focus, doesn't it? I bet you see all kinds of stuff that other people miss.' Nine-year-old Milo Moon has retinitis pigmentosa: his eyes are slowly failing and he will eventually go blind. But for now he sees the world through a pin hole and notices things other people don't. When Milo's beloved gran succumbs to dementia and moves into a nursing home, Milo soon realises there's something wrong at the home. So with just Tripi, the nursing home's cook, and Hamlet, his pet pig, to help, Milo sets out on a mission to expose the nursing home and the sinister Nurse Thornhill. Insightful, wise and surprising, What Milo Saw is filled with big ideas and simple truths. Milo sees the world in a very special way and it will be impossible for you not to fall in love with him and then share his story with everyone you know.

Oh this was such a lovely read😍 i think everybody who reads this will absolutely love milo. Milo is a little boy who has retinitis pigmentosa which means that one day he will be blind. I loved this book and I was cheering milo on all the way through! Really lovely, easy read! 😊

My problems with the story trace more to the publisher than to the author. I really wonder where the label “children‘s book” went to. If I had known that this is a children‘s book I wouldn‘t have borrowed the audiobook. I‘m sure the plot is perfect for children but for all others it‘s too much black and white.
For every problem there‘s an easy solution – which is a way too unfair method to deal with all the problems touched therein.

About two hours into this audiobook but I don‘t know if this is the kind of heart-warming story I expected it to be. 😟 Until now everything and everybody is drawn superficially, all is either good or bad. And I already am sure I know everything about the plot there is to know. 🙄 It‘s childish but not in a good, amusing way but in one that constantly provokes me to shake my head and murmur: “kitchen sink psychology”.

Such a sweet story; left me with tears in my eyes...

I'm glad of one thing though; i am glad that Milo got to see his baby sister Arabella and his Gran for the final time before he went completely blind... 😭

Similar to Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, this book captures the adventure of Milo who tried to uncover the dirty secrets of a nursing home which his granny was in. A light read with many innocent plots and thoughts, truly a captivating book with important family issues. Loved it ❤️❤️❤️

An easy read. Very heartwarming and interesting to see things from Milo's perspective. It also reminds me on how as adults, we are often so caught up in life that we overlook the little things in life. At times, it is the little things that actually matter.
