I soak up anything relating to Japan and Japanese culture. Kyoto is my favorite city in Japan (even though I haven't made it there yet) so this was a no-brainer. I learned so much about the history and tradition of Japanese gardening and pruning. And the fact that the author was just 3 years younger than I am now when she made this journey made it very relatable and I could just imagine how this experience was for her. Extremely enjoyable!

cariashley Kyoto is amazing. This book looks so interesting! 7y

I'm not particularly interested in gardening, however I was attracted to this book because of it's cultural quality. I loved travelling around Japan and peeking into it's traditional gardening values from page to page. From someone that has no gardening experience I still found this book easy to read and follow. It deepens further into the adventure, the opportunity and the respect for Japanese culture. I definitely recommend it.
