I would have given it a higher ranking if I wasn't concerned about the validity of the factual claims of the text. This book should be viewed as a stepping stone to additional research about Patton's death.

Nice surprise: I wasn‘t expecting this could be so interesting. Well written, setting scenes alla around WWII, well documented facts that happened during that war from France to Russia and USA, keeping a good pace. I will try for sure another one this Killing series. #2019

The story itself was very compelling and would've been a pick for me, however the narration was very distracting to me. There were quite a few mispronounced words that irked me throughout the entire read, for example Reich was pronounced reish(definitely the shh be quiet noise not "ch" throaty noise we associate with Reich). Genghis Khan was pronounced was a soft g instead of a hard g which I've never heard before. #24 #2019

KathyWheeler One of our museums hosted a Genghis Khan exhibit that included video — all of the people on those videos pronounced Genghis with a soft g. I‘d never heard that before either, but apparently it‘s a thing. 6y

KathyWheeler @kricheal According to one of those videos, there are several ways to say it. I‘m probably remembering this wrong, but the Chinese, according to the video, say it Gingus with a soft g and and i sound. 6y

kricheal @readinginthedark Well I've only read three of them so far and I don't think they're biased.. at least not in the way you'd expect from him. If there are slight leanings here and there I don't even pick up on them.. they seem to be pretty straight forward, however I'm attributing that to the co-author aka real author. I honestly think he's only involved in name only to drive sales.. that's how unlike Bill O'Reilly it IS. 6y

Another in the "killing of..." books by O'Reilly that although well researched regurgitates known facts and threads them together tenuously to support the book's title and premise.

MrBook I find that to be the case as well. I'm well-versed in the topics he tends to choose, so I almost yawn throughout. For folks not knowledgable on the material though, his series makes a great intro. 8y
