5 posts | 2 read | 10 to read
Nashvilles perkiest private eyecoffeehouse manager Juliet Langleygoes undercover in the party-planning industry to solve a suspicious death in this thrilling cozy mystery from USA Today bestselling author Caroline Fardig. Inspired by her past sleuthing successes, Juliet Langley has officially joined the ranks of Nashvilles licensed private investigators. Her best friend, Pete Bennett, doesnt worry that her detective work might interfere with her full-time job running his coffeehouse, Java Jive. He just wishes she would spend her free time rejoining the local music scene instead of tailing cheating spouses. But when one of Java Jives baristas, Shane, asks Juliet to look into the suspicious death of his fiance, Pete encourages her to plow full steam ahead. Since his fiance died on the job, Shane suspects that her party-planning colleagues are up to something criminaland will do anything to keep it quiet. After Juliet recruits Pete to go undercover with her at a wedding showcase, she discovers that white lace and black satin have a way of hiding big, fat secrets. If that werent enough to fill her plate, her latest P.I. job has her crossing paths with her ex, Detective Ryder Hamilton. Theyre barely on speaking terms, but to solve the case, they might have to cooperate. No matter where Juliet goes, shes brewing up trouble. Dont miss any of Caroline Fardigs thrilling Java Jive mysteries: DEATH BEFORE DECAF | MUG SHOT | A WHOLE LATTE MURDER | BREW OR DIE I was hooked from the first page. I loved it!Dorothy Cannell, award-winning author of the Ellie Haskell mysteries, on Death Before Decaf This author comes up with some very interesting ways to kill someone, and her injection of humor at just the right time is perfect. On its own, Mug Shot is a really good read, but if you follow the series, it will be even better.Linda Thompson, host of The Authors Show

#MarchMunchies #coffee ☕️I'm a dork!😜I missed today's #almonds prompt at the bottom of the March Munchies list & went right to tomorrow's #coffee prompt. Oh well! I'll post almonds later because right now I'm at the coffeeshop working & having a press of Rusty's Ka'u dark roast. It's smooth & a good way to start the day, along with eggs Caprese. The tagged book in the pic is the 4th in the Java Jive ☕️cozy mystery series, the 1st is tagged👇🏻

MinDea Those eggs are very interesting looking! What are they? 6y
DebinHawaii @MinDea They scramble eggs into ring molds to make them round disks, then top them with pesto, red onion, tomato slices & mozzarella. They are not avocado toast 🤣but pretty yummy. 😋 6y
MinDea They look yummy! The melted cheese looks on point! 6y

The 4th book in the series. Fans will enjoy the continuation of Juliet's story, her friendship with Pete, and the return of Ryder! Also she is trying to solve 2 mysteries this time around. It makes for a very full book. I received a free arc from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

4th book in the Java Jive cozy mystery series, it picks up w/Juliet getting her PI license & working part-time w/her friend Maya while still running the coffee shop. A case she's working on seems to involve her current love interest John, past love interest Ryder is back too, not to mention best friend/unrequited love Pete. Whew!🙄A pick overall-the mystery was fine for a cozy & I like Jules getting her license, but could do w/less of her ❤️life.

Oh yeah, there was #thespicygarlicavocadotoast happening on this rainy Sunday morning along with some cozy mystery chapters. Probably should have had coffee rather than green tea to fit the cozy's setting.😆 Laundry, soup-making, blogging & reading are on today's agenda. Also still keeping an eye on my buddy Max. So far no vet trip but carefully watching his stopped up status to see if we need to go. #catproblems 🐱❤ How is/was your Sunday?

TrishB Sunday nearly done and happy to say I had some quality reading time 😀 Enjoy yours. 7y
I-read-and-eat Mine is nearly over. Worked all day, read a bit in the late afternoon sun and some thesis work. 😊 Enjoy your sunday with Max 😻 7y

Technically this isn't all that book-related, although I did start this coffee shop-set cozy mystery #ARC while I enjoyed a tapas of Sautéed Grapes with Thyme & Manchego on Grilled Bread. Easy to make & delicious!?The grapes & grilled bread are served warm which softens the cheese & the flavors work well together. It's on the blog today as part of a monthly film blogging event, inspired by the movie 'Pan's Labyrinth.'???? #litsycooks
