So glad it‘s the weekend! More time to sink into The Starless Sea 🤓 This book, y‘all! It‘s a book about books and I‘m loving every second.

Tonight‘s tea: Stash Tea‘s Christmas in Paris - an herbal mint chocolate tea. Perfect for a late night with a doorstopper read.

Weekend reading!

This latest from Simone St. James features a dual storyline: 1982, Viv takes on the night shift at the Sun Down Motel and things quickly get weird! 2017, Carly has come to the Sun Down Motel to find out the truth about her aunt who went missing over three decades ago. I mean, I figured after The Return I should continue with the creepy lodging stories 🤓

This one comes out in Feb!

Agh! Super excited to be reading this one right now! This is one of my most anticipated reads of 2020 and I was able to download the eARC this week and dive in. It‘s. So. Good.

Horror readers, add it to your TBR!

I was craving quiche! The Quiche Loretta Galette was great! Flaky crust and an excellent, flavorful filling. I used tomatoes from my garden and paired it with a simple spinach salad.

I am so glad the good folks at @ValancourtBooks have reprinted this one! I read about it in Paperbacks From Hell. It‘s really just a side mention but since I‘d read some of Laws‘s books and this one was long out of print, it was one I was dying to get my hands on!

Pickpick

I‘ve been cooking out of this book for some months now and really love it. It‘s Chinese fusion cooking with an eye to local produce and ingredients. It‘s also vaguely healthy...😁

Everything I‘ve made so far has been amazing and now that it‘s fall, I‘m looking forward to putting my garden to use with even more recipes in the book!

BeckyLeJ I should add, too, that I helm a virtual cookbook club for one of our local indies and this is our Sept pick! 3mo

Another quiet morning brought to you by a tiny sleeping in 😁

I‘m not sure what I‘ll be reading over the holiday weekend but it‘ll be dark and creepy for sure!

This one has been in my plans for a very long time. Haunted house books are a favorite of mine and this one gets across the board great reviews!

The boys are still sleeping, which means I get to start my day with a book and coffee! (Yes, I use lots of cream. I never grew out of the coffee milk stage!)

I am loving these Bones Coffee flavors! And I have it on good authority that this book is amazing! @pantheonbooks has another horror title due out that I‘m excited about, too. I‘ll share that one soon 😁

CoffeeNBooks Bones Coffee is my favorite! I like the Chocolate Raspberry flavor! 3mo

Slipped in a little light reading during some free time this morning. I love this graphic novel teaming up a teenaged Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, and Wendy from Peter Pan in an all new adventure exploring all three of the worlds from their stories! So much fun! Oh, and did I mention it‘s by Andy Weir?! 😜

Evening plans. I couldn‘t have chosen a more aptly titled read, considering that I‘m dealing with a very painful back problem at the moment!

Seriously though, this latest from Preston and Child kicks off a Nora Kelly focused series and features FBI agent Corrie Swanson in a plot centered around the Donner Party! If I‘ve got to be laid up, at least I can be thoroughly entertained, right?

Tonight‘s tea: Chamomile Citron.

Louise I hope you feel better soon! 💕 4mo
Bookzombie I have got to catch up with the Pendergast series so I can read this one. Hope you feel better soon. 💗 4mo

BeckyLeJ Thanks, @Bookzombie! Btw I‘m super behind with the Pendergast books. I think Cemetery Dance was the last one I read. I think you‘re safe if you‘ve read that far. I‘d also suggest reading Thunderhead but you can get by without it. 4mo
