The Single Undead Moms Club | Molly Harper
9 posts | 16 read | 10 to read
In the next book in Molly Harpers Half Moon Hollow paranormal romance series, Libby (a widow-turned-vampire) struggles with her transition, and finds out it sucks to be the only vampire member of the PTA Widow Libby Stratton arranged to be turned into a vampire after she was diagnosed with late-stage cancer. It wasnt the best idea shes ever had, but she was desperateshes not about to leave her seven-year-old son to be raised by her rigid, overbearing in-laws. On top of post-turning transition issues, like being ignored at PTA meetings and other mothers rejecting her sons invitations for sleepovers, Libby must deal with her father-in-laws attempts to declare her an unfit mother, her growing feelings for Wadea tattooed redneck single dad she met while hiding in a closet at Back to School Nightand the return of her sire, who hasnt stopped thinking about brave, snarky Libby since he turned her. With the help of her new vampire circle, Libby negotiates this unfamiliar quagmire of legal troubles, parental duties, relationships, and, as always in Harpers distinct, comedic novels, characters you cant help but fall in love with (RT Book Reviews).

#QuotsyAug21 #crayon

And at least the 64 box, although the 120 is preferable…

“And no fat crayons. Everybody knows those are little-kid crayons. I need the skinny crayons.”

To be 6 again & getting new school supplies…

TrishB I work in a university- I buy new supplies at the start of each academic year still 😁 3y
robinb @TrishB Me too, but I have no excuse! :) Although they are on sale then! 3y
DebinHawaii @TrishB @robinb I sneak some in too but without any justification! 🤣🤣🤣 3y

I love Molly Harper‘s sense of humor. Libby, sick with terminal cancer, gets herself “turned” by placing an ad on the vampire version of Craigslist so she can raise her son. Now she has to deal with bitchy PTA moms, the vampire council, her sire and the hunky tattooed dude who keeps pissing her off.

There are no surprises here, just comical situations and characters you‘re excited to follow in crazy Half-Moon Hollow.

I love this paragraph for soooo many reasons, but mostly for the According to Jim reference.

Reggie This sounds interesting. 6y

I'm playing catch-up on reviews for books I finished in October. I loved this so much! Libby is amazing. She's snarky and fun and also very realistic for her situation. At the beginning of the book, she has just become a vampire after losing her husband two years ago and her year-long battle with cancer, and she just wants to live and continue taking care of her son. But after her transition, many battles await, including a few with the PTA! ❤️

I think this all the time.

And this time tomorrow I'll be in New Orleans! #nolastorycon Does anyone have a favorite bookstore or reading spot they'd recommend I find?

Lola Faulkner House Books is right near Café du Monde, where you must go café au lait/chicory coffee & beignets, in Jackson Square Park in the French Quarter. You can get you coffee and beignets to go and eat then in the park while you read :) @bookriot has at least two posts about bookish NOLA that you should check out. 8y
readinginthedark @Lola Thank you! 8y

The lighting and my hair were horrible for this, so I messed around with the coloring a bit. Anyway, this book is so funny! Didn't mean to miss #bookfacefriday! Still loving this one! So much fun, and yet so much parenting truth! #nolastorycon

LauraBeth I ❤️ the title 😀 8y
readinginthedark @LauraBeth It's really great! If you like humorous paranormal stuff, this is perfect! 8y

I am totally digging the vampire mom thing! And I find myself relating to Libby quite a bit. If my husband were dead, and I was dying of cancer, and becoming a vampire was an option...you know, I might do it to save my son from growing up with my in-laws. But it's not a drag; it's fun in classic Molly Harper style!

the.bookish.valkyrie I love this book! Molly Harper is one of my all time favorite authors! 8y
readinginthedark @Valkyrie923 I know! She's quickly moving up my list of "authors to buy as soon as the books come out!" 8y
