The Lives of the Muses
The Lives of the Muses | Francine Prose
3 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
All loved, and were loved by, their artists, and inspired them with an intensity of emotion akin to Eros. In a brilliant, wry, and provocative book, National Book Award finalist Francine Prose explores the complex relationship between the artist and his muse. In so doing, she illuminates with great sensitivity and intelligence the elusive emotional wellsprings of the creative process.

Another episode of DS9 I had to rewatch because I had succeeded in erasing the dreadful episode from my memory. Some people love the mischievous Lwaxana Troi, but I think she's one of the most annoying characters in the whole Star Trek Universe. I like this photo though, Odo looking impish.

#BlackandWhitecovers I was surprised by how many black and white covers I have. The Lives of the Muses is my favorite. It's a great nonfiction work about the women behind famous creative men like Salvador Dali, Man Ray, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and John Lennon.

JazzFeathers This prompt was revealing. Never realised how much b/w cover are actually popular. I've always thought b/w tends to be avoided in covers 🤔 8y

Some #nonfictionlove. I buy more than I read (especially thick biographies) but I have actually read all of these. #17booklove
