I am not sure how I made it through my teenage years in the eighties without reading this book, but I did. That‘s a shame, because it‘s really good. I like YA books that have some meat to them, and the characters in this book face real-world problems.

I don't know why I assumed The Outsiders was her only book. Maybe I got her confused with Harper Lee? Regardless, this was also excellent. I will be adding her others to my tbr list.

I've never read of her stuff beyond The Outsiders. I have high hopes for this one.

Although Tex isn't the outsiders, nothing is. This was a quick read and I liked it. At it's core, there is a brother relationship that broke my heart, for how much sacrifice and love is present. Tex doesn't make the right choices, and the way he goes about romance feels a bit icky, but I don't think Hinton meant to have him come off as a creep in that case. I love her style and the reaslism of her young adults. #teachersoflitsy #classroomlibrary
