Pickpick

I've read that this author wrote all of his books with a feather quill and ink from a well. This is a story of how wishing for magic might not always work out the way you planned. There are all sorts of magical beings in this. The one thing I did hate was the hunting and killing of one of the magical creatures. It felt a bit sacrilegious maybe? But that might just be my baggage due to the animal involved. Aside from that part I enjoyed the story.

Gee, I wonder why I wanted this specific cover? And Neil Gaiman doing the introduction was icing on the cake as they say. I've only just started this but I have high expectations. Cover art is La Belle Dame Sans Merci by John W. Waterhouse. I also have the other artwork with the same name by Sir Frank Dicksee. Google it. It is stunning.

“But that cannot be,” said Orion, “For I hear the horns of Elfland every day.”

“You can hear them?” Alveric said
And the boy replied, “I hear them blowing at evening.”
