Don't know why she's still tired. She slept a lot yesterday. She wasn't even interested in breakfast. Neither are my kids, tried to wake them early, we wanted to go swimming. Both still sleeping. I'm dreading Monday morning, when both have to get up at 6 a.m. because school starts after the holidays.
I'm listening to the audio book of this #romance novel provided by the author. The novel was good.

People like to give grief because I read so much historical romance but really, it's not just about the always a happy ending or the complexity of the characters and society of the times. It's also plain fun to read about people getting in trouble for not knowing any better 😂😂

pickThis is one of my first forays into romance, a genre I have long avoided. I loved Ridley's attention to detail, and to language. Reading this got me to thinking that, while romance is considered by many to be 'trite‘ and 'shallow‘, a romance writer's job is harder in some ways. These stories are more character driven than plot driven. They have to dig deeper in their characters heads.
