Not my favourite collection of Duffy's, but I think I liked it more on this reread, with a big more patience probably than before. Still some incomprehensible ones, and one ridiculous one made up of nonsense words, but also “War Photographer“, which I read during my GCSEs and really stuck with me.

#LetsTravelAugust Day 10: A literary icon in the #UnitedKingdom, Duffy is a mighty force in her own right. This collection seemed a little more scattered and too obscure for my taste tho. I would have appreciated a Poet‘s introduction explaining how the poems actually come together in a cohesive fashion, just for the reader‘s understanding and edification. First read of #readathon, and I really enjoyed it! The poems were different to what I expected but I've definitely got a few bookmarked, including the collection's namesake. Definitely recommend!

Happily reading my first book of #readathon! I'm really enjoying this, nearly finished actually!
