Is There Really a Human Race?
Is There Really a Human Race? | Jamie Lee Curtis
6 posts | 7 read
Is there really a human race? Is it going on now all over the place? When did it start? Who said, "Ready, Set, Go"? Did it start on my birthday? I really must know. With these questions, our hero's imagination is off and running. Is the human race an obstacle course? Is it a spirit? Does he get his own lane? Does he get his own coach? Written with Jamie Lee Curtis's humor and heart and illustrated with Laura Cornell's worldly wit, Is There Really a Human Race? Is all about relishing the journey and making good choices along the waybecause how we live and how we love is how we learn to make the world a better place, one small step at a time.

Love Jamie Lee Curtis‘ children‘s book, Is There Really a Human Race? Through clever rhyming and bright and diverse illustrations, children are lead on a journey to answer this very question,

We learn we all have unique talents, and if we don‘t respect and acknowledge one another, all we‘re going to do is crash.

Absolutely perfect for young children or even for sparking a discussion with older children.

#celebrityauthors

The best celebrity author is Jamie Lee Curtis. Her books are almost always #5star reads for me. My favorite is the tagged book and today I feel silly.

JazzFeathers I never knew she writes children books 😱😱😱 6y
LibrarianRyan @JazzFeathers yes. Quite a few. She has 10-15. She was at BEA in Chicago a few years ago to sign her newest at the time. The line was 5 hours long. 6y
JazzFeathers @LibrarianRyan l've always liked her as actress. I really need to know her as an author 6y
SomedayAlmost Her “Tell Me Again About The Night I was Born” is a cute, positive book about domestic infant adoption. Super fun illustrations! Makes a nice gift for families adopting a baby domestically. Curtis is an adoptive mom. (edited) 6y

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I first read this years ago when it came out. I loved it then and I still love it now. It‘s a play on words with a kid asking what is a human race. Is it really a race? I love the sing song pattern and the rhyme, but only now in my second reading do I realize it needs more variety in the illustrations on the people represented as it is talking about the HUMAN race.

#UCFLA3414F17 Is There Really a Human Race? by Jamie Lee Curtis is a poetry text. It is the story about how kids see different people and races.

ProfessorOak Link http://files.harpercollins.com/PDF/TeachingGuides/0061127590.pdf I have to use UDL 5.2 use multiple tools for construction and composition. I would use ESOL 11 place language in a meaningful context. #UCFLA3414F17 7y

Read this to the 4th grade class I taught yesterday (my first Jamie Lee Curtis children's book) & they absolutely loved it. The illustrations are delightful & so jam packed full of details, the kids asked me to leave the book out for them to explore when they have free time.

In particular, we enjoyed the rhymes & word play. "It's very clever," said one student who I've known since he was six & hated reading & books.☺️

#kostovagiveawy. I find it hard to narrow down who I would love to meet. I got it down to two. R L Stein is known for children's horror stories, but he can also do comedy. His books kept me alive when I was younger. Jamie Lee Curtis may be a "scream queen" but she has a light hearted and effervescent quality when she write for children. Weigh she is feeling silly, or explaining the human race her books are lovely and something to pass on.
