The Die Is Cast
The Die Is Cast | Jenny Rogneby
9 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
A naked and bloody seven-year-old girl walks into a bank, clutching a grubby teddy bear. She plays a threatening recording, demanding money. No one dares intervene.# The child leaves the bank and disappears, without leaving a trace of evidence. This daring robbery is trusted to highly regarded investigator Leona Lindberg of Stockholm's Violent Crimes Division. But why is Leona ignoring witness statements, and calling in suspects on the barest thread of suspicion? When a second robbery takes place, how does she manage to be the first one at the scene? Leona: The Die is Cast is a gripping crime thriller featuring an unusual heroine who holds on to reality by the skin of her teeth. In life, as in poker, Leona is unwilling to fold, despite so much being at stake. Sweden's #1 Bestseller. 'Quite simply the best crime novel I have come across in ages - masterfully told, most cleverly constructed, utterly compelling, touching and moving all at once.' TIM JUNG, EDITOR, ATRIUM OETINGER PUBLISHING HOUSE Already a bestseller in the author's native Sweden. Author Jenny Rogneby is a criminologist and criminal investigator for the City Police Force in Stockholm. Jenny is highly promotable - born in Ethiopia and growing up in Sweden she has an interesting personal story.

Well, I didn't finish any of my #CastTheDie numbers, but I did at least clear the list. 😂 (We Only Kiss at Christmas turned out to be a sequel, but I tried the proceeding book and didn't get into it. so likely I won't end up reading it.) I'll try A Winter's Promise again another time, I think.

Garak is probably one of the most interesting characters on DS9. You never knew where you stood with him, his motivations were always his own, a mystery to others. He could be a hero one moment, then a back stabbing villain the next.

Megabooks Garak is so interesting! He‘s been a favorite DS9 character. 5y

This was such a weird book. I gave it two stars because I finished it and there was an interesting twist early on. But it was way too long and meandering with too many storylines that made things unnecessarily complicated. The storyline about the reporter was nothing but a plot device in the end, which just made me mad.
