A good classic faery tale
#girlpowergiveaway Thank you so much for having this giveaway! I know this isn‘t exactly the sort of book that comes to most people‘s minds, but it did mine. When I was little I had a small record player that I would listen to books on and this was my favorite. I loved how strong the princess was, having the willpower to go through everything she did without giving up and saving her brothers. She is my first memory of a strong female character
The gorgeous cover of this book is what drew me to it. The illustrations throughout are exquisite! #picturebook3 #readyesterday
When I was young, my parents would let me pick a story from The Giant All Color book of Fairy Tales & read it aloud. One of my favorites was The Wild Swans, which also happened to be one of the longest. Finally, my mother refused to read it anymore so my poor dad had to read it ALL the time. This edition tells a slightly different version & comes in a clasp box with a pamphlet version of the story and fold out illustrations, which are more modern.
I have been spoiled by reading Hans Christian Andersen with illustrations by Sanna Annukka. ⭐️⭐️
Eek! Crazy weekend meant that I fell behind in posting my #picturebookmonth installments. This looks like I #threwitacrosstheroom, but in reality it was one of my all-time favorite fairy tales as a kid. I loved anything with witches and spells turning people into animals. There seemed to be so much danger and evil in this story.
