My enthusiasm for this book is due in part to the fact my toddler took a three hour nap, and I could finally read a book within 24hrs like the good ole days 😃Japanese translations often have such cold and distant dialogue but it worked here with the portrayal of a less than traditional marriage and a woman suffering from depression. Yet it was still funny and cheerful? 😂 #mommyreads #nihongo #libraryfind

shawnmooney I really liked this book when I read it maybe almost 10 years ago, and I would like to try it again. The last time I checked, nothing else of hers had been translated. 7y
alanacristin @shawnmooney alas! The author bio makes it sound like she's prolific. I'd pass this copy on but it's a library book. Any other Japanese books you'd recommend? I've read lots over the years but like discovering new authors. Plus this library has a good amount of translated books 😃 7y
