A dark & disturbing Nordic noir! This mystery was thoroughly entertaining, but it went a little off the rails in the end. No spoiler here since it‘s in the blurb, but I would have preferred the mystery remain focused around the husband. (That was an interesting situation!) Instead he is killed off and thereafter it felt like a distinctly separate novel. Nonetheless I‘d like to try another on audio.

Cathythoughts Nice review. I‘ve read some of his. He is inclined to go on a bit ( a lot 😆) but I think he‘s a good relaxing read. 2y

Another Swedish noir author I've never read before and enjoyed a lot. For once I started with the first book in the series, but that was just lucky, I didn't even know there is a series featuring Chief Inspector Van Veeteren, who's style is pretty different than other Swedish detectives that I know of, like Wallander, Beck or Bäckström, just to name a few. A pick.

@TheAromaOfBooks This is my September #DoubleSpin, finished just a bit late.

claudiuo And here is my October bingo card since I didn't post it before, with 2 other books I finished this month: the great Watchmen comic novel and a short novella by Gillian Flynn. 3y

It's been a while since I've stayed up past my bedtime to finish a book and this was worth it. I've definitely got a weakness for Swedish crime series.

I‘m starting this one tonight ! ( @JillR , I‘m not bailing or not- not finishing Wolf Hall , just taking a little break ) ❤️👍🏻

JillR @cathythoughts good plan! (If I stop I fear I‘ll never restart but it‘s tempting...) 6y
