Detective D. D. Warren must consult one killer to catch another in this taut thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling master of psychological suspense (Associated Press). They were daughters of a monstera father who slaughtered eight prostitutes before dying himself. Dr. Adeline Glen left the nightmare behind, and now she specializes in pain management. Her sister, Shana Day, followed in her fathers violent footsteps, first killing at age fourteen and being incarcerated for more than twenty-five years. After a brutal attack, Boston Detective D. D. Warren needs Adelines professional help to recover physically. But when a new psychopath known as the Rose Killer begins a reign of terror, D. D. must also consult the insane Shanawho claims she can help catch the madman. D. D. may not be back on the job, but she is back on the hunt. Because the Rose Killer isnt just targeting lone women; hes targeting D. D. And she knows theres only one way to take him down...

Shout out to my public library where I randomly found this book that I'm loving and to the author who acknowledged most crime drama knows nothing about technology

At this point I'm at the "I'll be more shocked if at some point I *don't* like one of her books" stage of my relationship with Lisa Gardner. Another fantastic book that sticks the landing.

Although one of the only trigger warnings that gets me is self-harm. Graphic descriptions of cutting always make me feel light-headed. So there was that. But still a great whodunnit.

This book was far too gruesome for me, but the mystery was intriguing. Detective DD Warren is injured early in the investigation of the 1st in what turns out to be a series of deaths. She ends up at a pain therapist who then becomes a part of it all.

My #BookBinge of the D. D. Warren series continues with this 7th installment. So far, this is probably my least favorite of the series... it‘s not a bad book (twisty plot, exciting events), but the new characters don‘t feel quite as fresh or original and D. D. grated on my nerves a bit here...

bliophile Love this author xx 5y
TorieStorieS @bliophile Me too!! I have been enjoying re-reading and catching up on this series!😊 5y

So excited...kicking off my weekend reading early. Feeding my Lisa Gardner addiction. I usually try to avoid series, but her stories work so well as stand-alones that I'm addicted. I must now read them all.
