pickSo, this is my second book of 2020...I am off to a good start. This one was much better than #1. It is also a YA novel. However, this one was engaging and the characters were by far more realistic. The idea of a young girl getting drawn into a cult was one that drew me in and made me want to keep reading. The romance that was present was not cringe-inducing. Overall, I enjoyed it, and I feel like my students would as well.
panI dunno. This was mildly entertaining and a quick read. I loved how one of the main themes was to question everything, but the cult leader's motivation was stupid (& yes, I understand he was supposed to be crazy but he was just not threatening or charming enough to come off as anything but lame) and Cara changed her mind SO quickly I thought it was going to be a trap because it literally took one sentence. Ugh 🙄
1. Chicken enchiladas w/green sauce! SO hot, super yum! :)
2. Murder cult goes hiking.
3. I have all of mine. They're awful.
4. I love a bunch of cartoons/anime. Can't think of a favorite right now!
