If you've got a middle school aged reluctant reader on your hands, you can't do better than Wolf Rider. The first sentence is irresistible. I read it to a class of seventh graders some years back. They were rolling their eyes until I got started and then they were riveted. I ran into one of the "cool" boys on a stairway and he said hey, I like that book you're reading us. I was thrilled. #actionpacked #allthebookssept18

Mindyrecycles PS -- It is scary, but just the right amount of scary for its intended age group IMO. 6y
Laura317 Too scary for a fifth grade boy that loves scary? Just curious. 6y
Mindyrecycles @Laura317 not in my opinion. 🙂 6y

Laura317 @Mindyrecycles Thanks! We will check it out! 6y
silentrequiem Now I'm curious. What's the first sentence? 6y
Mindyrecycles @silentrequiem -- The phone rang three times before Andy picked it up. "Hello?" he said. A voice replied, "I just killed someone. I killed...Nina." Sorry, should have said the first PARAGRAPH apparently. ? 6y

I forgot this book existed until I saw it today at the library. This was a favorite when I was a girl. I think it was the first book that made my heart race. Yet I have no memory of what it's about. Can't wait to rediscover.
