In fairness, I started reading this right as I was moving, but I kept putting it off to finish other books and realized I just wasn't that into it. I'm indifferent to most sports (except you, dear soccer!), so I need something that captures the humanity of the story (like The Boys in the Boat). Not enough of that here.

A rollicking good story of the women who first compete for the US in the Olympics track and field events.

JennyM Oh, how I love the word rollicking! We should we it more often! 😄 6y

I had to leave for the airport at 7 this morning. The early start didn‘t keep me from taking a minute to tear into my #secretsantagoespostal box. @Bookwormjillk I feel very spoiled, thank you so much! Fire on the Track looks amazing. I brought it with me for trip reading. And the snow in a can is likely the only snow I‘ll see in Savannah this winter. @Avanders @BookBabe @MrBook

I enjoyed this book. Olympic history is interesting anyway, but the history of women in The Olympics is fascinating. Recommend if you liked Boys In The Boat.

Got the Christmas lights up and realized there was still enough daylight for some reading outside. I love Thanksgiving break more than anything.

It feels like there's been a lot of these early Olympics books, but I keep reading them so I guess there's a reason for that.
