The first novella in the Four Past Midnight collection is absolutely crazy. How does King come up with this stuff? There is a time rip and people missing from the plane and suspicion of bad, hungry, monsters called “langoliers.” It‘s a long buildup until the langoliers finally land on the page and WHOA once they do. The idea of this happening is horrifying, but I could not look away. This reads sort of like sci-fi horror lite. #readingStephenKing

The four past midnight collection starts off with a bang! Or a rip I should say. A rip in the time space continuum. This novella is one of Stephens longest novellas, page count wise. It sort of drags in the middle but it sets up the characters very well. Would have really enjoyed this as a full fledged novel. This is very weird Stephen King, but for me, the weirder the better. The movie adaption is very cheesy, as are the majority of his movies

L is for The Langoliers, named by Craig Toomey in the story. Bronson Pinchot played Toomey in the movie adaptation. This is a far cry from Balki Bartokomous!

OhNoMersault I just found a .gif of the little chomping teeth chasing the plane. Such awful FX. 7y
dariazeoli @OhNoMersault Oh, God. SO AWFUL 😂 7y
ShookBelf @dariazeoli I used to love watching Perfect Strangers 😂😂 7y
GarthRanzz Kings TV movies were always so bad they were fun. I haven‘t watched this one in years though. It was always funny watching Pinchot without his Cousin Balki accent. 7y

1. Cleaning the cat box.
2. My BF has zero cooking skills. But if he had a signature dish, it would be salad. He makes a mean salad.
3. Same
4. I‘ve read some short novels in a couple of hours over the years but the shortest book is probably The Polar Express with my nephew.
5.
6. 100+
7. I‘ve tried romance again recently; there‘s some I‘ve really enjoyed.
8. A “Short King book” is an oxymoron. Ha! My fave story is tagged.

TommieMarie74 Question 5 is hard. I love so many genres. Probably the Children‘s section. 7y
