Sinatra
Sinatra: The Life | Anthony Summers, Robbyn Swan
5 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Packed with revelations, this is the first complete account of a career built on raw talent, sheer willpower--and criminal connections. Anthony Summers--bestselling author of Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe--and Robbyn Swan unveil stunning new information about Sinatras links to the Mafia, his crowded love life and his tangled relationships with U.S. presidents. Exclusive breakthroughs include the discovery of how the Mafia connection began--in a remote Sicilian village--and moving interviews with his lovers. Never-before-published conversations with Ava Gardner get to the core of the tragic passion that dominated his life, came close to destroying him, and made his best work heartbreakingly personal. Sinatra delivers the full life story of a complex, flawed genius. From the Trade Paperback edition.

3.5⭐️
I really wanted to read this for several years because my grandpa loved Frank Sinatra. This biography looked at a different side of the life of this famous singer. While including the main events of his career, it primary focused on his involvement with the Italian mod and his involvements in politics. This was super fascinating because we live in a time where we think it‘s new for celebrities to be politically involved in campaigns (more⬇️)

Schnoebs I listened to the audiobook of this. Even though it was extremely well read and the different voices of people throughout the book were distinct, it skipped over several parts and probably only covered about 2/3 of the book. For someone who follows along in the physical copy when listening, it made it really hard. But overall I still really enjoyed my time reading the book and it also made me feel a little bit closer to my grandpa. 6y
Schnoebs It also now has me in a mood to read more mod based nonfiction which I think I‘ll incorporate more in January! #magicalreadathon #nonfiction #audiobook #scribd #biography #mpls #twincities 6y

This is the initial prompt for the #Magicalreadathon and you need to finish your current read. Couldn‘t be happier that this is an option because I came into this readathon with a little over 2 hours left in the book! Really hoping to get this finished today and pick out a brand new one for my drive down to Chicago for Christmas.

Almost done with this book. Can you believe that everything after the plant bookmark is footnotes and reference lists?!?!? Super amazed with the amount of research that was done for this book!

Making some progress now that I bought myself a fancy new speaker for my audiobooks! Can‘t wait to use it more. Loving hearing about the relations of Sinatra and the mob. Super interesting and really reminds me of my grandfather!

gradcat Who do you admire most? Personally, the Jane Goodall is good, but I haven‘t read the other. If you‘re a big Sinatra fan, though...🤔🤔🤔 6y
JanuarieTimewalker13 They‘re so different that it depends on your mood. Rat Pack or Gorilla Gang. Lol 6y
wanderinglynn I would vote for the Jane Goodall book because she‘s simply amazing! 6y
