This book is about a field trip to the planetarium that is foiled when the museum is closed, so the teacher turns the bus into a spaceship and brings her students to outer space. This a a SF book that would be good for IR. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6skpu3 the UDL principal 1.1 offer ways of customizing the display of information and EL 25

KarliCrean Incorporate second language acquisition strategies in the curriculum goes well with the website i choose because it is a video on the book. I can show the episode to the students once they are finished reading the book independently. #UCFLAE3414SP20 5y
DrSpalding When you look at the front cover of this book and see a bus in space, do you think this promotes science fiction or fantasy? 5y

This SF book is fantastic for reaching two content levels in your classroom. Using this book for storytelling, you can teach students about the solar system with Ms. Frizzle! In this book, Ms. Frizzle and the students go on another field trip, but this time it‘s to outer space! Of course things go wrong, but the students solve the problem and learn SO much about the solar system. You can use this website for activities to assess

Kcompton2912 Your students knowledge about each of the planets. https://www.thoughtco.com/solar-system-printables-1832458. The UDL principle 7.1, optimize individual choice and autonomy, and ELL strategy 20, List the most important words and phrases you use or plan to use in a
presentation on a transparency or on the chalkboard, can be met with giving students a choice of what activity to do from the website and writing vocabulary on the board. #UCFLAE3414SU19

This week was Read Across America at Clift Elementary. Every day we had a fun dress up bookish/ Seuss related craziness,& today was Favorite Book Character. Mine is Miss Frizzle 💙LEFT:student said- “ Miss Allen, I made A Magic School Bus for you. Know you have both Liz& Bus! “ RIGHT: the awesome head librarian Mrs Gonzalez as The Grouchy Ladybug. Her story time tickled me with her “Grumble Grumble” voice and the kids loved it! Dress Credit- Etsy!

The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System by Joanna Cole is a Fiction book that throws a fun spin on learning about the solar system. The link below is an activity that can be used over a few days to learn all about the planets along with the book. https://www.aiaa.org/uploadedFiles/Education_and_Careers/STEM_K-12_Outreach/Kids... #UCFWalterslit

Nichdorsey02 Great book series to read to kids and introduce topic related to science classes. Gives a more creative way of learning. 7y
Racheal.Shi.Horton I always loved watching these movies in school. Reading the books or watching the movies, is a fun way to teach the students the lesson. 7y

The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System by Joanna Cole & Bruce Degen is a F/ NF hybrid PB that could be done as GR. In this book of the collection, Ms. Frizzle uses the bus as a rocket ship, blasting the students into space and teaching them all they need to know along the way. From how craters on the moon were formed, to what Saturns rings are made of, the students are fully submerged in a lesson all about space. #UCFLAE3414F17

SarahWynne https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/magic-school-b... This lesson on Scholastic provides a class participation demonstration of the planets sizes and distance from each other. A great way to get students out of their seats and participating.
UDL: 2.5 Illustrate through multiple media
ESOL: 14. Simplify your speech by making it slower and redundant 15. Reinforce the key ideas you present again and again
