For me this was not nearly as good as the first one. I had a hard time getting into the story. I was really disappointed because I loved the first book a lot.

This is a well-written, literary sort of mystery set in the desert. I didn‘t realize it until I finished it, but it‘s actually a sequel to the author‘s first book- which I now want to check out (I hope it‘s on Audible because I kept thinking that this one would be a great audiobook!). I really enjoyed this #arc. The story starts off slow and the setting (Utah, winter, desert) doesn‘t jump out to me as the most interesting. But James Anderson does an excellent job fleshing out the characters with just enough detail to be compelling without bogging down the story. The mysteries are interesting and the writing well-done. Overall: 👍🏼

The language of this #arc pulled me in from the first page, and 53 pages in I can‘t say I‘m disappointed. What could be terribly boring (a trucker driving through the Utah desert on a snowy day with a small child and a baby) is turning into a compelling mystery. 🤔
