Walk the Edge
Walk the Edge | Katie McGarry
One moment of recklessness will change their worlds  Smart. Responsible. That's seventeen-year-old Breanna's role in her large family, and heaven forbid she put a toe out of line. Until one night of shockingly un-Breanna-like behavior puts her into a vicious cyberbully's line of fire—and brings fellow senior Thomas "Razor" Turner into her life. Razor lives for the Reign of Terror motorcycle club, and good girls like Breanna just don't belong. But when he learns she's being blackmailed over a compromising picture of the two of them—a picture that turns one unexpected and beautiful moment into ugliness—he knows it's time to step outside the rules. And so they make a pact: he'll help her track down her blackmailer, and in return she'll help him seek answers to the mystery that's haunted him—one that not even his club brothers have been willing to discuss. But the more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. And suddenly they're both walking the edge of discovering who they really are, what they want, and where they're going from here.

With every YA books I read/live/experience I'm still floored to hear people refer to teens as only having two moods: angsty and dramatic. The reality is they are so much more attuned to all the feelings adults choose to ignore. These characters were flawed, and they were delt so many different social issues that they faced and grew from: labels, expectations, bereavement, anger, suicide, love, parental relationships, sibling relationships, etc.

Got my books pulled to get signed at RT tomorrow. First time going to RT book am looking forward to it. Hope I'm not overwhelmed.

DivineDiana What is RT? 8y
melrailey @DivineDiana it's the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. This year it's in Atlanta (next year Reno). There's a tons of authors there across genres. Saturday they have a giant book fair where you can get books signed (and buy books). I'm a little nervous I'll buy too many books while there. 8y
BookNAround It is overwhelming for sure! Fun though. I went with some girlfriends the year it was in New Orleans 8y

DivineDiana Sounds fabulous! Have fun! 8y
melrailey @BookNAround since you have experience - how well does the book check in work? 8y
BookNAround @melrailey I didn't take any books with me to have them signed so I don't know. I just had the ones signed that I got there. But they've done this so long I'd bet they're efficient and on top of it. 8y
minkyb That is quite a pile. Have fun! 8y
AmandaL Have fun! I was there Wednesday and Thursday and things were already getting crazy busy! 8y
melrailey @AmandaL I'm sure it's going to be chaos but I'll love it. I just love being around book people. 8y

I've found that teen angst is a great way to pass the time when my days are full of data entry and waiting for work software to cooperate. This book has its flaws, but it was still a fun listen. Overall I enjoyed Breanna and Razor's characters and story more than the ones in the first book of this series. I feel like the Thunder Road series is just waiting for a CW adaptation about "good" girls who fall in love with boys in a motorcycle club.

Out of all Katie McGarry's books this one was my favourite. I really enjoyed how complete opposites Razor and Breanna came together and brought out the best in each other. I also loved how Katie wrote the Reign of Terror, Rough, Tough yet a giant Family when it counts. I give this book 4:5

I LOVED Walk the Edge! I was worried what I would think of it, as I wasn't sure how it would live up to Katie's other books. Walk the Edge went above and beyond what I hoped for.

I am such a sucker for these opposites attract ya romance novels. Here: hot biker with anger issues helps attractive smart but shy girl who is being blackmailed because of him. You know the ending, but the way you get there....

Once again, McGarry's undeniable ability to write a story that completely pulls me in comes into play. From the moment I met Breanna and Razor, I knew I would come to care for them. Their stories - together and separately - were so compelling!

bookrockbetty really liked this one!! although... when don't i like a mcgarry book?? haha 9y
