I had the privilege of hearing Paul Tremblay interview Stephen Graham Jones this afternoon. In the conversation Jones' essay "Why I Write" was mentioned, and I had to look it up! It's excellent if anyone is interested:

Pickpick

If you read this book, read the actual book and not on a kindle. The footnotes get better, funnier, more informative. This is basically a horror movie trilogy in one book. And it's amazing and badass and a total mindfuck. I think Stephen Graham Jones had a grandmother like mine who when you stayed at her house she asked which Friday the 13th we hadn't seen yet and then goes and rents it. You can tell horror is his life. #cantsayenough

TobeyTheScavengerMonk He's got a new one coming out on the 20th with a gorgeous cover! 3y

His experiment in formatting this horror novel that's supposed to read like a horror movie is taking me out of the experience. Lol, did we really need the footnote for beats? Sure some of them are informational. But when you use f.g. and I have to go through a footnote to find out it means foreground. Why the hell can't he just spell foreground for the lay readers. Or am I the crazy, didn't take enough cinema and theatre classes, guy?

TrishB That seems massively annoying! 3y
Reggie @TrishB it is!!!! But here's my theory.....he dated someone who was way too young for him and the experience bled onto this book. He feels he has to explain everything. Idk lol. But credit to the author, I'm sticking around for the story. 3y
TrishB Love the theory!! Look forward to your review 😀 3y
TobeyTheScavengerMonk So my question is: What was immortalized in Disney's Robin Hood? 3y
Reggie @TobeyTheScavengerMonk He's describing a smile a guy gives this girl as having a fox smile.*38. 3y
