Received this book in a swap from @madamereadsalot1 ! I enjoyed it, pretty entertaining. Not scary at all Haha! In fact i had a crush on Joe (always a sucker for those lost boy types). And i dunno if there's a sequel but there should be.

"Things are as bad as you fear they are. People are as bad as you think they are. The Universe does not care."
If you aren't reading books by Charlie Huston, you are missing out.
Detective noir meets urban fantasy vampires, this series is such an #underratedread! Vampire clans run New York like organized crime families and Joe Pitt is just trying to score blood and stay out of their way, but that's not as easy as it sounds. There's a missing persons case, a vampire cult, monsters, suspense, humor, it's so darn good! #riotgrams
I love Huston's Joe Pitt series, a vampire hero (anti-hero?) an urban setting, and a very noir feel. In a world were vampires are very real, #dusk features prominently. #junebookbugs @RealLifeReading
Other than stopping to make myself dinner I read this in one sitting. I totally didn't intend to read this whole book today but it was too good to put down. Everything I thought and hoped it would be. A no frills no sugar coated vampire book!
Started this book because I had some time. I'm already a hundred pages in and don't plan on stopping anytime soon!
Thank you to @ThomasHewlett for his post about this book. It is next on my TBR list and I can't wait for a down and dirty, sparkly free vampire story ⚰
TBT to a book that changed my life. I read it during a real dark point and it inspired me to get back into writing - which brought me back to life. And it's a great read! Vampire -noir, hard boiled all the way and no sparkly vamps included.
