Another sharp little novella from Tor.com, most of the book focuses on the premise that some people die before their time, those people become ghosts, and those ghosts can take years off a human's age, add it to their own, and cross over when they reach the age they were destined to die. But this exchange can go both ways, and ghosts can be trapped and forced to take years against their will. It's a pretty cool idea, but I would have liked more.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Started this in the kitchen making dinner and finished it up after sitting on the couch for hours, listening, crying, and smiling at the wall. Its THAT good. Its fucking heartwarming, very sweet, romanic, inclusive, accepting, and loving. It's so good. So good. It does this thing in the second half that rewrites the 2016 election and showed what might have been. All the tears, all of them, sad tears, happy tears. All the tears.

I picked this up for a baby shower gift for a friend if mine and am trying to think up an appropriate inscription. Something hopeful, that will back up the message of the book, that connects to the future....but I keep coming back to "dont let the bastards grind you down" which isn't entirely appropriate. Or maybe it is? ?

Just starting the audiobook this evening and so far I'm loving it. The missing comma however...is driving me nuts. Anyone else think this needs an oxford comma?

My reread continues! This one might also be my favorite? Hard to say, it's been decades since I read some of the others, but I love it. I love the tension Jordan builds with all the characters leading and drawing them to Tear. Super happy to have Mat finally get his own POV, Faile is finally introduced, Egwene comes into more power, Perrin starts pressing boundaries, coming into his own, and Rand ...well. It's good shit.

I'm only about 40 pages in, but so far the history is interesting and really gives context to the memoir component. It's really resonating as a person who has had pain dismissed by medical professionals and I'm looking forward to reading more. But this is a text that is difficult to enjoy, it's well written but it fills me with rage.

This was a really quick read, that literally kept me guessing. It occurred to me that the plot gets a confusing when I tried explaining in to a curious group of students. It wasn't as unexpected as I hoped, but it was super engaging, edge of your seat, a good pick for fans of thrillers. #classroomread

I have fallen completely in love with this book, easily the best graphic memoir I have read, and I'm really bummed that it's not getting more buzz. It's just SO GOOD. Davis' story of her struggle with eating disorders is so honest and inspiring, while Kettner's artwork is engaging and emotive. The combo of the two made for a book I could not put down.

It's fantastic, just fantastic, and everyone should read it.

I decided to kill time in Goodwill this afternoon and stumbled upon this gem. What a find!

I confess, I was only interested in reading this after I heard that a few scenes from the movie were filmed at my school over winter break. So obviously I have to see the movie. Which means I needed to read the book first. Clearly.

I'm so pleased with this final book, and happy to report that it is just as good, if not better than the proceeding four. I will miss Lady Trent's adventures, but the story was amazing (there was so much that I didn't expect) and the end was fantastically satisfying 💜💜💜

Some reading and a reading buddy. I decided listen to this one as I followed along with the text, when I heard the audiobook is narrated by the author. I also appreciated the interview at the end where Reynolds discusses why he wrote it in verse. The premise is interesting and the whole thing is well executed. I would definitely recommend, especially the audiobook

Both well written and with an interesting premise I had a hard time enjoying this book. I wanted to know what happened, I ached for the characters, & I HATED so many of the people they encountered. The book got under my skin, reading was an uncomfortable, tense experiance. I didn't want to stop reading, but I dreaded what traps & pitfalls might lay ahead. In the end I loved it and would recommend it to others, but now, I'm reading something light.

Picked up for the #readharder challenge, this graphic novel is written and illustrated by the same person. The artwork was fantastic, and throughout I felt happily nostalgic for my childhood spent reading the Redwall novels by Brian Jacques. This is definitely for older elementary age kiddos, as it was surprisingly violent and the themes of betrayal and loss are pretty deep. As an adult, I enjoyed it immensely and will pick up the rest on #hoopla.

I'm not sure this is a great place to start for a person (like myself) who is new to Black Panther as a character. The artwork is excellent, and I really enjoyed the writing, though it was not what I expected after reading more light-hearted titles, like Ms Marvel. I spent a lot of time trying to piece together what was happening, and I feel like I still missed some chunks. I was certainly invested by the end and will definitely continue reading.

I picked this up for the #readharder challenge, it fits the task for a #bookaboutnature. Overall it was fascinating, I loved the broad scope Schutt takes to his subject covering everything from wildlife, dinosaurs, cultural practices, and diseases that result from cannibalism. Super interesting!

This is probably my favorite of the bunch, I have so much love for this world and these characters. Isabella has kept me company for about a week now, but unfortunately I must languish on the library hold list for the 5th book. My evening seems bleak with the lack of dragons 😭

The third volume in this series and it continues to delight. I find myself so invested in the characters, the world, the fate of the dragons who are threatened by new advancements in technology. Isabella is an amazing heroine, smart, passionate, and I can't seem to stop reading her adventures!

This series is absolutely charming and I must say I enjoyed this volume more then the first. I alternated between the book and the audiobook so I didn't have to stop while cleaning and cooking, I just could put it down! Isabella continues to kick ass, push boundaries, do science, and I am 100% here for it!

Delightfully Victorian, this story was slow at the start but picked up considerably as it progressed. It is the fantastic memoirs of Isabella, would be dragon naturalist in her efforts to join a scientific expedition and prove herself beyond the limitations imposed on her gender. The characters have heart and the story a fair amount of mystery and adventure. As soon as I finished this one I reached for the next in the series

This is fantastic science fiction, Soloman sets up a strict and cruel class system aboard a generation ship hurtling through the stars. The premise is both alien and chillingly familer, the characters are compelling and diverse, and the story kept me up late into the night reading. I can't wait to see what Solomon does next.

Lovely, sweet, and magical, this story was a real pleasure to read. The characters are charming, I loved how the narration comes from the characters around the protagonist, it creates a greater sense of mystery and tension. As I read I was reminded of both Big Fish and A Prayer For Owen Meaney, excellent books, with simularly enigmatic protagonists who seem too fantastic for their mundane surroundings.

I've listened to a lot of audio books in the last 2 weeks and this one was hands down the best. Gay is so open and vulnerable and honest. I was reticent to get into this because I knew it would be a difficult read. However, though it has some very hard moments, this was a book I very much needed to read. Narrated by the author, it's amazing.

Perfectly designed to cash in on the popularity of 80's nostalgia but I was HERE FOR IT. It's a fun, slightly creepy story, and it was just what I needed to entertain me on a long day of travel. Plus, the paperback cover is amazing

Twisty and gripping, I gobbled up this book in breathless gulps. Unfortunately, compelling as it was, I spent too much time trying to figure this one out, I didn't give the story a chance to truly sweep me away. It is a great physiological thriller, if you are in the mood.

A lovely and powerful book about a woman who gives birth as society and the world around her collapse. Her anchor is her new child and her husband as she is pushed from her home into a refugee camp. This is very much a story about new motherhood within a distant frame of turmoil. Hunter uses language sparingly and her prose reads more like poetry. I loved it ❤

On my holiday gifting list? Be ready for books, they are my favorite thing to give. 😄 Now to get wrapping!

I'm terrible at finishing short story collections but I flew through this one, maybe because it's an audiobook? Regardless, it's as good as everyone says it is and I'm not sure there is anything I can add to the praise. Just read it.
