Whoops got distracted from @DeweysReadathon for a bit but I did got to see Caitlin Doughty who was awesome so 🤷🏻♀️ still a pretty bookish day. Anyway I ended up liking this but it‘s not my kind of mystery exactly... started out pretty slow though it sped up at the end
Getting started with this for the @DeweysReadathon ! Here‘s my intro questions while I wait to start.
1) Reading in Chicago today
2) The one above largely cause it‘s overdue at the library (thanks Chicago public library for eliminating late fees 😆)
3) looking forward to snacking on tea and chocolate
4) This is my first time in this readathon tho I‘ve done 24in48 a few times
5) Looking forward to breaking a reading slump today! 📚
Ok guys for the #hour42 #favoriteone challenge I can‘t pick! Can there be a tie?? 😂 I gave both of these 5 stars and they‘re so different I don‘t know how to compare them. But I loved them both so much!! #24in48
Just three more hours till I‘m at 24 🙆🏻♀️ just finished this book- it was so good!! Solid twists I didn‘t guess ahead of time. Taking a break now for a bit 😴
Good morning on day 2 of #24in48! For the #hour30 #MGYA challenge, I actually already used these books (is that kosher?) for #sff. However really a wrinkle in time is one of my all time favorite books! The hero and the crown and the thief were also favorites of mine. I recently read some of the thief books and they stand up- still so good! of the copies pictured, the hero and crown is the only one I‘ve had since childhood and you can tell 😂 📚
I feel so weirdly in sync with the #24in48 challenges this time around. For the #hour18 #romance challenge, I just finished birthday (fun fact: I got this as a prize at a previous #24in48!) and am about to start fumbled. not sure if birthday is just a romance novel, it‘s also a coming of age story and ya, but it was so romantic! I didn‘t always read much romance, and mystery‘s always been my go-to genre. But recently I‘ve gotten into it more. 📚
Finished up this audiobook with some help from Fat Louie (and by help I do mean difficulty breathing he‘s a very large cat😂). I‘m definitely still processing the book- I enjoyed some parts of this book a lot, but it was a tough one as well. Definitely time for something lighter now! About 9 hours done of #24in48 📚
In a very timely #24in48 #hour12 #audiobook challenge, I just got back from a long (sweaty) walk while listening to this on audio. I got this on sale from Libro.fm, but I‘ve also used a family audible account sometimes. This book is tough and I struggle with the theme, but the narrator is great! It‘s one I‘m not sure if finish on paper but I‘m almost done with it now on audio.
Second book of #24in48 done 🙆🏻♀️ this is my favorite series I‘ve read this year- this one and murder on the red river are both so so good!!
Just woke up from a short-ish sleep and kicking off my morning with the #24in48 #sff #hoursix challenge 😊 📚 📖. Here‘s a few of my old favorites plus a new book I particularly loved (an unkindness of ghosts). Zero history maybe doesn‘t really even count as SFF.... I guess it‘s more real-world-y, but if you‘re familiar with William Gibson, he writes everything as if he‘s describing an unknown universe. In any case, it‘s my favorite 💜
Finished this up this morning! Solid thriller, although I definitely knew who did it for a while. But still a lot of fun. Now I have to decide what to start next for #24in48 📚
Hmmm should I have started this before bed?? 🤷🏻♀️guess I‘m tired enough to sleep despite how creepy it is 😂. I‘ll be finishing up my last 9 or so hours of reading tomorrow in the morning for #24in48 definitely finishing this mystery then!
9 hours in! Got a lot done listening to audio this morning, and now I‘m gonna switch back to print for a few hours #24in48
Mmmmm oatmeal and Anthony Bourdain 😉. True story: last year, I finished kitchen confidential the night before mr. bourdain passed away. Obviously just a coincidence, but it really freaked me out. The other week, I finally felt like I could enjoy all his great work without only thinking about that, and I‘m so happy to listen to this during #24in48.
Well I think I read my last book of 2018 (although I suppose there‘s still time...). I didn‘t do a great job posting or reviewing this year, but I did do a decent job tracking! Pretty happy with my results overall... excuse the shaky pic of my spreadsheet :/. #2018reads
Aaaand done with book 5 (and my errands). Having trouble picking what‘s probably going to be my last book of the day though... #24in47
Whoops slept a little late but back to reading now! Before I get into it, this is my favorite #undertheradar book - the whole trilogy is so so good but this ones my favorite. Maureen has got to be one of my favorite characters in literature ever! So so good. (But also all the TWs etc it‘s very dark) #24in48 @24in48
Ah this is soooo good so far... but I‘m getting so sleepy 😂 might get some rest and finish up tomorrow #24in48
For #24in48 #awholenewworld challenge. Even though I live in Chicago there was so much I didn‘t know before I read this. One of my favorites of 2018 so far for sure. Ben Austen did such an amazing job interviewing residents and portraying their stories and experiences. @24in48
Here‘s a #marvelousfirstline from one on my tot - definitely makes me interested in getting to this one! #24in48 @24in48
Woohoo just under 4 more hours! Taking a break to meet friends but really enjoying this audiobook so far! #24in48
