Does anyone have any recommendations for a buddy read? Hoping for a series such as sci fi, adventure , just not romance . Thank you 😊
Finally Finished. Just like Harry's Quest. My husband and I decided to reread all 7 books together in 2020. We had barely made it into the Prisoner of Azkaban and the read along was put on hold. I LOVED these books as a kid and as an adult I'll always love Harry Potter and wish that Hogwarts was a real place.
Still trying to finish this forsaken book---I JUST realized Ariana Dumbledore was most definitely an Obscurus and how in the world does she plan on explaining that in the newest movie is beyond me 😳. Using the Ravenclaw duo Rowena and her #ghost daughter Helena, the Gray Lady for #Maymoms @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I've missed some days but we just watched Saving Private Ryan last night as we do every May in honor of Memorial Day and this scene albeit short is gut wrenching, Mrs. Ryan gets three notices in one day about her sons 💔 #Military #Maymoms
You're Making This Personal, and it Isn't." Not Personal? That is My Work, My Sweat and My Time Away From My Kids-- If That's Not Personal I Don't Know What Is!" Erin Brockovich played by Julia Roberts in one of my favorite underdog movies. So many great quotes from this movie-- it's what I wanna shout at my bosses every time we have a mandatory monthly meeting ?. #Single #MayMoms @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
"Let's all go to bed and pray we don't wake up," --Moira Rose portrayed by Catherine O'Hara on Schitt's Creek One of my favorite TV moms of late. Every episode she's dressed like she's going to the Met Gala. She has the best vocabulary/phrases/outfits and comes out a better person/mom after the family loses their money/prized possessions . "David what does burning smell like?" ? #Maymoms #TVmoms @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Olivia Coleman is everything! She portrayed Phoebe Waller Bridge's stepmom/Godmother in the series Fleabag. Funny and cringeworthy, the kind of stepmom that makes you grind your teeth 😬 😬😬

We saw Dr Strange Multiverse of Madness today. I never related to a villain more, I felt her pain. Her situation always reminded me of the Dumbledore quote "of course it's happening in your head, why should that mean that it is not real?" ?
#Maymoms #memorable @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I honestly haven't read the Moon Knight Comics, but we've been watching the show and I can't say that I love it. The mom in it though yikes! I don't want to spoil and explain further but definitely #Unhealthy #Maymoms @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I finished this last night for #LMPBC #GroupW. Very reminiscent of 1984, The Giver and Fahrenheit 451, a dystopian read about things disappearing. Highly recommend, I want to buy a copy for myself and read more from this author! @phantomx @MaleficentBookDragon @MeganAnn
Today is not my day, I've been sicker than I have in over 2 years, had to cancel my dentist appointment, missed out on tickets for Star Wars concert next week, oh and I passed it on to my child 😫. Just wanted to update and say my #LMPBC books will be going out late im sorry @LiteraryinLawrence @MeganAnn
Finished for #LMPBC. ⚽️⚽️⚽️. I'm a fan of Backman and soccer apparently. I really like the bits that explained what kind of person you are based on what team you root for. The US is pretty much the only country that calls it soccer right? @LiteraryinLawrence @shellleigh33 @BennettBookworm
It's snowing and cold here in the Midwest! ☕📚🌨 Hope you all have good books, warm blankets and yummy Easter leftovers wherever you are 😋
Oh the palpable excitement I experienced as I impatiently waited for each of these books to come out! Reading them again as an adult, I don't have that same "feeling;" in fact I find more to criticize, such as, how many times and different ways can she tell us that Poor Slughorn was portly?! ?. "His belly proceeded him" "he lingered at the Great Hall during meal times" we get it the man was FAT
We recently did some damage at the Book Loft in Columbus, OH (not the tagged bookstore, couldn't find it). If you ever get the chance highly recommend! It is a literal labyrinth -- 32 rooms full of books, puzzles, totes, bookish gifts, AMAZING! They have a map at the entrance and regardless everyone was still getting lost 😅
We went and saw the Marvel Exhibit at Cosi today! Fun fact I learned, after WW2 there was a "war on comics," apparently it was so bad it almost ended the genre entirely. They were considered "morally corrupt " for words and concepts such as "terror" and "horror." Sheesh don't they know that's the good stuff?!
Finished this up a few days ago as my fiance and I continue our re'read. Umbridge is such a "good" villain, disguising her evil and prejudices under a cloak of pink and kittens-- with a voice that makes you want to stab yourself in the eye with a quill, a most dangerous type and not unrealistic! The most disappointing part of this book was and still is the fated prophecy at the end. Luna shows up finally yay!
Gahh how do people take such beautiful photographs hmpf?! Anyway either way I try it either cuts off the tulips or the books booo. My love got me these autographed books for my birthday (even it is specifically what I asked for 😇) and then today we celebrated Valentine's Day with a couples massage 💆♀️. February is such a lovely month xoxoxo
Hello friends, here are some more choices for our #LMPBC pick group K! Let me know if there are any you have already read, triggers, and/or interested in . Thank you all @shellleigh33 @LiteraryinLawrence @BennettBookworm
I read this book when it first came out, I was 12 maybe. My Grandma bought it for me and sent it in the mail 💌. Re-reading it for only the second time as an adult brings back those exciting memories when I was a child and hung onto every word . It's my favorite movie in the series as well
These are just the books I have on hand; I also have a copy of the tagged book The Remains of the Day somewhere unknown in my book stacks 😆. Let me know your thoughts! @MaleficentBookDragon @MeganAnn @phantomx
I'm so incredibly weary of the times. As soon as I see a copy of Maus in an indy we'll be adding it to our library for sure!
I was not aware sci fi romance existed. This book was entertaining and I'm not sorry I read it. My only complaint is this cover art...the guy is supposed to have horns and a tail and I don't see that reflected here 😆😆. Annnnnnd I'm just going to admit outright that I went ahead and bought book 2. Amazon is going to catch on and bump up the prices smh
During 2020 my partner and I had planned to reread all the HP books together, we made it to book 3 which I never officially finished because well I pretty much took a reading hiatus that year plus I was pregnant and could not stay awake to read ! We decided to start it back up again and I FINALLY finished Prisoner of Azkaban. It was always my favorite book of the series because as a kid my mind was blown at the plot twist 🤯.
What is there to do during winter..and a pandemic.. with an infant..whom you're trying to keep safe but also not 100 percent socially isolate so she knows people exist besides her father and I 🤔🤷♀️ Yesterday we visited my favorite coffee/used bookstore and picked up these gems. Bought the tagged book 100 percent for the cover.
There's like twenty of these books in this series and I have no intention of reading them all but Forever 35 mentioned this book so screw it why not plus it was only 2.99 bonus it's a break from "you must always be good and there's a lesson to be learned here aka Little Women" ?
