CarolynM I visited those Belgian cities last year. It was one of the best trips ever. Bruges is incredibly beautiful - if you go there make sure you stay a couple of nights in the town and walk around at night and first thing in the morning when the streets are mostly empty because there are no day trippers. I had no expectations of Antwerp but it turned out to be the highlight for me. It is such a vibrant small city and it's full of interesting things👇 5y

It‘s always a good day when new travel books come! Yes, they‘re cliche, but I haven‘t found a better tool to help you wrap your arms around a place (in Europe) you haven‘t seen before than a Rick Steves guide. That nugget of advice on not trying to do everything is in every book, but I think it‘s a good one for life. Leave a good impression everywhere you go. Assume you‘ll be back.
