Vision | Tom King

Written by best-selling Author Tom King! One of the most celebrated comic books of the century, collected in full at last! Vision wants to be human, and what's more human than family? So he heads back to the beginning - to the laboratory where Ultron created him as a weapon. The place where he first rebelled against his given destiny and imagined that he could be more - that he could be a man. There, he builds them. A wife, Virginia. Teenage twins, Viv and Vin. They look like him. They have his powers. They share his grandest ambition - or is that obsession? - the unrelenting need to be ordinary. Behold the Visions! Theirs is a story of togetherness and tragedy - one that will send the Android Avenger into a devastating confrontation with Earth's Mightiest Heroes. COLLECTING: VISION 1-12

10/10:
This might legitimately be my favorite comic story ever told. There‘s plenty of reasons the 12 issues of this comic are held in such high regard, and man this was worth every second. The plot is incredibly interesting and thought provoking, the art is truly some of the most beautiful work I‘ve ever seen in a comic, and there is genuine emotions showcased throughout. I absolutely loved this and I recommend it to any reader!

Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice with its themes of justice and mercy is a central motif in this book. King uses Marvel characters to tell a Shakespearean story of unintended consequences, misguided sacrifices, and fate.

This book is . . . heavy. It has a tragic quality, one bad decision leading to another. King's work has been described as exploring the terrible consequences of the best intentions.

The Vision has had a memory swipe in order to keep him from being destroyed. He along with his new synthezoid wife Virginia and their synthezoid children Vin and Viv try to settle down in a suburban neighborhood. Their ultimate goal is to fit in and be normal but that's proving easier said than done.... It's dark, it's sad, it's sweet, it's action packed. I really enjoyed this collection a lot!

Tom King pitched this book to Marvel as “Breaking Bad meets the Incredibles” and, well, yes.

Synthezoid superhero the Vision wants to live like a normal human, so he builds his own family and moves to the suburbs.

And it all ends in fire and death.

After all, what could be more human than burning the world down to protect your family?

A masterwork of graphic storytelling, which King just seems to keep cranking out. Read it.

Another great run by Tom King. So unusual for Marvel to do a story like this, but this deeper look into what it means to be human is so well done and thought out. Who knew a comic about a synthezoid and his desire to have a family, to be normal, could make one cry?

#riotgrams #day6 - #hardcovervspaperback

Picked up a used copy of the first #paperback trade yesterday, before I realized the full #hardcover was available. In my defense, B&N were really unclear on their website what editions were currently available.

I love how the green hardback under the slipcover of this book looks like an old worn photo album.

This is a pretty unique story by Tom King about Vision (from the Avengers) wanting to be human and create a family. There's some great bumps and twists in the road and I can highly recommend it. 👍

Likely the finest Marvel Comic of the 21st century, and one of the greatest runs of all time. I wish Marvel used better paper quality, but that is my only complaint in this otherwise exemplary collection. Read it as soon as possible.
