While I‘m not sure how I missed this one when it was published nearly 5 years ago, I‘m sure glad to have read it now. A proudly feminist western with great representation (Black, Asian, LGBTQ), great characters, and a great story! I loved it!

I just saw this in a Book Riot email. I really enjoyed the tagged book last year and actually think it could be even better as a show. 🤞🏻
Here are today‘s random picks from the library shelves. 🙂 I do not have a problem. I may never even get to these. I know I have had the tagged book out at least once before, possibly Six Four also. 😬
I have been spending this Saturday afternoon with this Western style historical fiction story set in the 19th century... I'm still not sure what to make of the writing style, but it's interesting to see female outlaws in the spotlight for a change.

Just finished the ARC of this book and was blown away. It is a great novel with compelling characters, well paced action and powerful emotions set in a well drawn western setting. It has everything you want from a western, outlaws, cattle rustlers, lawmen, ex-slaves and great shoot outs all centred around an unforgettable cast of female protagonists. Even the conceit and structure is original and deftly executed. Loved this book.
I just did a ton of videos about all my #bookmail this month! Check them out if you wanna see 14 upcoming titles. (I‘m jesshowbooks over there too.) #jesshowreads2018
"I‘m representing women in Westerns the way men have been represented for 100 years: Women are the center of the story. Women drive the plot." Melissa Lenhardt's definition of "feminist Western" will rock your Sunday & whet your appetite for her upcoming novel HERESY -- I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on it!
