2 weeks later and I've got one bookshelf unpacked. I'm definitely never moving again.

Book: Are you ready to be scared???
Me: Yes!
Book: Light fixtures! Lamps! Screen doors coming off their tracks!! Did I mention the light fixture? It has burnt out bulbs. Oh also there's people with home made terrifying weapons but they'll just keep having the same conversation for 100 pages don't worry about them - I mean this lamp is round and short.
Me: Can you get on with it already?
Book: No.

After a really hectic two months of looking at houses, buying a house, renos, moving and dealing with multiple floods in my parents basement - I'm finally settled in my little house and it's ALL mine. My cozy little reading nook is perfect and I'll be off to the races just as soon as I unpack all my books...

This book was the definition of overkill. Pretty much every page was just a different monster with multiple rows of teeth eating someone else. There are multiple places where a new character is introduced just to be eaten by a monster - in the SAME PARAGRAPH. There was barely a story here. It's basically just a bunch of death scenes strung together and they lose their effectiveness very quickly.

Ok I think it's time to call my #24in48. I didn't get to read as much as I hoped but I'm not unhappy with my numbers.

"Look at all these books I have that I've been dying to read for ages. I will spend the next hour and 15 minutes painstakingly reading the info of every one so I can decide what I feel like."

"It's too hard to decide. Here let me go online and buy myself this random book I think I heard good things about several months ago"

Well I didn't do nearly as well as I hoped today. I couldn't even tell you WHAT I was doing other then reading because it was mostly just me being distracted by shiny things.

I did finish my one whole book (the Wife between us) and listened to about a third of I Am Legend during my audio chores.

Now I'm off to decide what to read next for #24in48

I thought this was a really good psychological thriller even though I wasn't that shocked by any of the twists. I think that's probably a symptom of me having read so many of this type of book. I still love a good unreliable narrator.

Not off to the fastest start but I did get a bit of reading and audio cleaning/shopping/walking done.

Getting started on #24in48. I haven't got much left in the tank tonight but will hopefully get a started good and early tomorrow

I completely forgot about this so I'm jumping in at the 11th hour for the #24in48 readathon!! I'm behind in my reading this month so I'm hoping this helps me catch up.

Done finally!!! This book is huge and at least 25% of it is unnecessary and mostly boring info dumps but the other 75%?!?! So. Much. Fun. I skipped back and forth between the regular book and audio book but I'm really wishing I'd started the audio book sooner. It is SO well done. I've never really enjoyed audio books before but this one was amazing. Also it let me get 6 more flowers sewn on to my pathetically slow moving quilt project.

This book is taking me soooooooo long to get through. I like it and want to finish but man it bogs down sometimes and it takes me a couple days to pick it back to again. So I'm going to try switching over to audio book so I can listen while quilting and hopefully get through it a bit faster.

So an hour and almost an entire bucket of sour keys later I've finally decided to read the tagged book and for the 3rd time since new years eve I've opted not to read the V.E. Schwab book even though I'm dying to read it. Why? Why am I like this? It's almost like I'm afraid to pick up the books I'm most excited to read.

Ugh I'm so torn on this one. The plot was fantastic and I could not put it down. I didn't see the twist coming AT ALL and it was done beautifully. It came out of left field and it made sense. However, I could not stand Quincy. It really took away from my enjoyment of the book which sucks because I want to give it 5 stars because I thought it was brilliant but I can't because the main character just did not work for me.

New start on the shiny new kobo I got for Christmas. I've never loved an ereader so much in my life. It's so light I barely feel like I'm holding anything and has made reading one handed the easiest thing in the world.

This is my #booknook for the night. Taking a wine break to have a bit of coffee to keep myself awake till midnight.

My pick is back and @BookishTrish once again you have been too generous 💜. I've been waiting to read an American Marriage since it came out. It was great to see everyone's thoughts on the book and I'm happy everyone seemed to enjoy it more then I did. I like Trish's idea to use the same notebooks on the second go around so we can all read the entries we didn't get to see.

Oh boy this was Dark - I'm not sure what I was expecting but nothing quite so bleak. However, I did really enjoy it and A Good Marriage was my favourite story. The only negative point I have is that I just don't love the reading experience of short story collections. That's not the books fault though just a preference of mine.

Meh. This had a lot of promise but there was waaaaaay to much unnecessary description. I don't need to know the color of every plate you eat off, which particular farm in Vermont your cheese came from or what year the local hot dog stand opened. I would however have enjoyed some more information on some of the magical leaps of logic Mercy had to jump to in order to solve this one. The dogs were great though.

I'm taking a break from Full Dark, No Stars and jumping into this one. Being stuck on a ship is nightmare enough for me without adding in the killer carnival.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS!! I'm in awe of how the author managed to put this one together. It was such a unique take on the murder mystery genre. I simultaneously want to give this to everyone and tuck it away on my keeper shelf to live forever.

Up early this morning trying to get some reading in before the Sunday chores start. I found the first few chapters of this one frustrating but now that I'm into it I'm loving this weird mystery.

I'm sorry to say I'm bailing on this one. The last thing I expected of this book was for it to be boring but unfortunately it is. I've fallen asleep trying to read it 4 times over the last week and it was a struggle to get through the first 30%

I was in need of some retail therapy this morning. First it was the library book sale, then it was upstairs to pick up my holds and then on to Indigo for their buy 3 get 1 free sale and then a final stop at bath and body works for a nice fall candle. Now I just need to figure out where to start.

New start! I'm really excited about this one. It's part of a series of fiction books based on real creepy places. This one is about the Dyatlov Pass incident (if you haven't heard of it and like unsolved mysteries I recommend looking it up). I'm really hopeful that this is enjoyable because this series has me all kinds of excited.

It's definitely sweater weather this morning. I'm sorry to say goodbye to summer but having coffee wrapped in a blankie and watching the sun come up is certainly making up for it.

I just finished reading this and wish I hadn't taken it with me to lunch. Now I'm in public and can't properly vent my anger at the way this book ended. Liane and I are going to have to break up. I loved big little lies but have not had much success since then. On the plus side I guess I did really enjoy the first half.

I'm not normally all that interested in the kindle daily deals but how can you say no to something being sold as a robot western??

It's Saturday!!! I was planning to spend my whole weekend reading and couldn't wait to pick this book back up. Then last night I hit the half way point and it's started to lose it's magic - I'm finding it dragging. I've been up for an hour and a half and I have yet to actually pick up the book.

It seems like every spare moment I have ends up with me falling asleep! I'm trying a cup of the fantastic tea @BookishTrish sent in an effort to fit some quality reading time into my evening.
