Deadly Motivations
Deadly Motivations | Philip Schulman, MD
1 post | 1 to read
Daniel Whitacore is a brilliant oncologist who discovers a way to use a deadly virus to treat lymphoma. His discovery is a miracle to those who suffer from the devastating disease. Unfortunately, Daniel has enemies. These enemies hope to alter his miracle cure to make it something deadly to harm Daniel as well as the entirety of mankind. Not only must Daniel fear those who mean him harm, but also, he must be wary of those closest to him. John Abel is Daniel's devoted fellow, but even he soon gets caught up in the plot and becomes an unwilling conduit to its execution. John's girlfriend, Susan, is a Harvard educated PhD. She may be smart, but can she be trusted? An outside force, Peter Sutter, recently lost his son to cancer, and he seeks revenge against Daniel, much like the others who would use his miracle cure to kill. Then, there is Jack Comstock: a jihadist conflicted as to his motivations and the ramifications of his actions. All of these people are soon intertwined by Daniel's scientific discovery, but will any of them get what they truly want?

Thanks to the motivation of endless challenges, readathons & events on Litsy, I‘ve started out this year with a BANG! 🧡

Cazxxx Wow 😮 that‘s an amazing achievement l! 2y
anushareflects Incredible! So curious to know the process behind such a massive accomplishment - could you please share? 2y
Meshell1313 Wow wow wow 🙌🙌🙌 2y
Twainy You go girl! I‘m at 100 books. I‘m enjoying one story a day. If I read too much more than that I hit a slump & burn out. I read for entertainment & a lot of technical/reference manuals for work (not included in the 100) … then I also have a 60-80 hour a week job. So you must be in the publishing industry to be able to read 4-5 books a day. I just gave myself a headache thinking about that LOL You are a superstar!!! Very nice achievement. 😁🙌🏻 2y
Clwojick @Ladygodiva7 @anushareflects @Twainy I‘ve been averaging 100 a month. But March was significantly more because I was reading tons of shorted books for #MiddleGradeMarch. I pretty much live with my headphones in, listening to audiobooks, at 3x speed (average book takes 3-4 hrs).I work at the hospital, and a good chunk of my shifts are solo, so I can have a headphone in between phone calls to nurses/doctors/sending hospitals. ❤️⬇️ (edited) 2y
Clwojick I also listen while I clean, commute, etc. My goal was 1/day, but this year there are so many readathons & challenges, which help to keep me motivated. I also read all sorts of genres, and I only read for fun… so I just switch it up whenever I feel like I‘m going to hit a slump. 2y
Twainy Twinsies! I really can‘t listen much at work when other people are in but otherwise I listen while awake. Bluetooth is king! I float from speaker to car to phone to headset all day long. I only listen at 3X when I HAVE to know or I want it over, otherwise even with headphones on I‘m not enjoying the chipmunks narration. I am after all here to enjoy 😄 or I keep telling myself & nearly every book is a different hand picked genre or certain burnout! 2y
Clwojick @Twainy 😂 I only notice the chipmunk noise when I‘m listening on speaker, which is super rare. I‘ll slow it down if it bugs me. But 3x sounds totally normal to me through my AirPods. We even have a Bluetooth speaker in the shower. We had to get one after i accidentally walked into the shower with my AirPods in because I was so into the book. 😂😂😂 my husband always has music playing, and I have my audiobooks. (edited) 2y
Clwojick @Twainy I would honestly be okay with going to 3.5x for some books, and hope they offer it soon. Some apps only offered 2x and I couldn‘t use them because it seemed so SLOW to me. 3 is just my comfort zone now. 2y
